He gave credit to the Eagles and merely said we were close to competing with them. Based on our record vs the Eagles in the past few years, we are close to competing with them. We usually split or sweep them. We saw Dak on the sideline admitting with another player, “we suck.” But you cannot say our roster is a mess and our GM doesn’t give us a chance in public.
 
Close being at least 4 years away since that is how long he is signed for. Maybe once this guy is out we can get a QB that can actually play when it matters most and not fold like a cheap lawn chair.

Agreed. Absolutely no one cares about Dak's personal wealth. If Jerry could find a way to pay Dak 200 mil/season and it not affect the salary cap, I'd be fine w/ it.

I know, right? That's why I find it so odd when people proclaim things such as what he did: "I'm tired of the talking from everyone."

Now, the poster did clarify that he meant the team talking, and that makes a lot more sense.!!!

Every step any team takes to aquire talent is to back up their QB, no matter how good or bad they are. We just had two teams/front offices in the SB that surrounded their qb's with supreme talent.

If Dak was the only weaklink on a stacked team, you would have a point. So it's silly to expect Dak to win without much talent around surrounding him, then blame him when he doesn't.

Before you blame his contract, the $10-20M/yr difference didn't stop other teams from aquiring SB winning talent and it won't in the future.

I just wish the conversations here could be more positive towards overall team success. It's as if the General Managing, Head Coaching, Quarterbacking, Cap Management and current roster status are not overflowing with potential positive outcomes.

Now where did I put my rose colored glasses anyway?

We are not close to them. They have continued to get better while we’ve regressed. They will sweep us again in 25.
 
We will not be serious contenders until Jerry Jones dies. Even then it might not fix it as Stephen has too much Jerry in him.

We need a scandal so bad that they are forced to sell the team.

I honestly could care less what any of them have to say. The people that follow the team and Jerry's moves in the off season, can predict fairly well what the results will be.

I trust Vegas' opinion more than Jerry's and Vegas typically gives the Cowboys more credit than they deserve, because of the big homer fan base.
