Assuming this question was for me (quote feature works well), what do you mean by "tie himself to Keenum"?

Everyone out of grade school knows he means signing Keenum and having to have to use him.

I did do my homework on all of the previous Keenum threads. He's had ONE good season, with the vikings, when he was signed to a one year contract and even after that season the vikings didn't try to resign him. AGAIN if Keenum was as good as what you think he is he wouldn't have been on SEVEN teams in EIGHT seasons. Except for that good season he pretty much throws almost as many picks as TD's. In fact in 2016 he DID throw more picks than TD's.

As far as Rush goes, how can you or anyone call him a never was never will be when he hasn't even taken a regular season snap yet?

Again, you cut down Keenum and try to prop up Rush? Good luck!

The only thing I can think of is you're the president of the 3 member Case Keenum fan club and you feel obligated to toot his horn.
.

Still here, in a thread you "can't get" why people are talking about? That's interesting. I guess you now fall in that category as well?

dude got replaced by a rookie who was in no shape or form ready to start, that should tell you all about his "abilities". i wouldnt even want him for backup,he is fading fast and we will be wise to draft a Qb to back up Dak.

Keenum? Heck yeah. Backup QB is one of the most interesting positions this off-season because of the MM factor.

MM did draft Brett Hundley tho and he's a FA.

Yep. Under what circumstances in Washington? You want to call their season 'normal'?

Before I get into the meat of this thread, let me preface by saying that it was not created to try to stir up the vigorous debate and arguments from the initial thread that featured the name Case Keenum. But in looking over the guy's career and body of work, I continue to find him an intriguing option to put into the mix for this team.

I'm not saying 'he's better than Dak', so nobody get the wrong impression or your panties in a bunch!

What I am saying, is that hes easily better than Cooper Rush, and somewhere in between Dak level and Rush level.

And what does interest me is in signing Keenum, for two reasons:
  1. To give this team a better backup quarterback, someone who has and can win games if needed. Rush has never shown that ability.
  2. To give this team some measure of fallback option if things did take a bad turn in Dak negotiations. If Dak were to hold out, or somehow force a trade, the cupboard for the Cowboys isn't completely bare.
Based on Keenum's 2019 salary and standing, I think the guy could be had on a multi-year deal in the $4 - $5 million range, at most.

And he proved that on a good team, he can win, and get you to an NFC Championship Game, if the pieces are there around him.

And again, before anyone gets it twisted, nobody is saying the guy is a world beater. But take some time yourself and take a look at his career, college and pros. I think he makes more a decent, highly-affordable option.

Thoughts?

(Here's to hoping I haven't reopened Pandora's box!)

In good conscience I can't post in this thread because I am vegan.

I don't think Rush has gotten a in season opportunity to show what he can really do as a starter in this league. So he is a unknown entity in that regards. Having said that I would be ecstatic if Case Keenum would sign here as a backup qb. I like his known abilities in playing in this league and think he would be able to more than drive the bus if his services were needed. Go get him Jerry!
In the words of the scouts, "Rush has a lollipop arm." Quite simply, he lacks the arm strength to be an NFL QB. So, it's really not an unknown. I'm still in shock that he's our backup.

Was that "their plan"? And how did you happen to get in on it? I guess that "plan" also entailed firing the coach after 5 games, right?

You can not like the player, but don't resort to getting stupid.

Keenum had exactly one bad game with the Commanders (vs Chicago) before getting yanked after a little over a quarter against the Giants, some of us actually did the homework. Let me know when 384 yards and 3 TD's and a 117 rating qualifies as "meh".

Blows my ******* mind how people take a post and run off in the opposite direction with it. Absolutely infuriating.

Yeah, you get half of the QB Keenum shows he could be in Minnesota, for half of what Orton got? I'm entirely down.

please keep personal remarks out of comments.i can pull stats card too,Dak threw for nearly 5000 yards and i have told by many here that those are empty and dont mean anything.if you think Dak cant take you to the super bowl but Keenum can than i am done debating this.

Read my first post in this thread again. You clearly failed to the first time if you're saying this.

no.i dont think he is worth 4.5 million, use that money on a position of actual need and draft a QB to backup Dak,Rush should not be in the nFL.

Keenum?

I am disappointed in you. I would expect that from other posters. But not you.

Maybe from me... but I don't think of dudes like Keenum until they're thrown in my face.
