It dosent look like very much to me . Are the Packers , Seahawks , Vikings , Steelers Lions winning SBs

Pats with the GOAT at a very reasonable figure are pretty consistent at it , A guy that not only elevates the players around him but plays cheap seems to be the answer.

How much was Nick Foles and Wentz making together when they won it How about Flacco and Wilson when they won SBs or Mahomes this year Didnt Peyton take a pay cut in 2015 so the Broncos could get it done .

This isnt about Dak wanting to get paid THEY ALL WANT AND DO GET PAID . The difference is their respective franchises dont SQUANDER their rookie contracts and provide the team with talent and coaching to get it done before THEY HAVE TO PAY THEM!!!!

We didnt make use of the window of opportunity and IMO it dosent matter if its 30 or 40 MIL WE NEEDED TO GET IT DONE WHILE IT WAS 650K
Now we will be a few players away like all the rest of the teams that have had to pay . No matter how well we are coached or how well Dak plays it wont equal the 6-8 impact players we could have for 30 -40 mil

Tom Brady's "discount" has made everyone lose their collective minds.

Are the Chiefs just done winning Super Bowls once they pay Mahomes? No. Peyton was still the 9th-highest paid QB in the league, and he was the highest paid the year he signed that contract.

Also Brady was actually paid at or near the top of the league for a long stretch in the middle of his career. For instance, Brady was the highest paid QB in the league in 2006 and #2 in 2008. Those years only look cheap now because even top QBs in the 2000s were paid less than they are now.

His "discount" years coincided with him being past the age most QBs retire.

Elite QB’s are the clearest path to remain a consistent contender over an era despite other weaknesses and shortcoming on the roster due to the Cap.

And the more times you can take it to the brink the more opportunity you have of breaking thru.

Limiting the results to only winning Super Bowls is creating a narrative to support an argument.

The teams with Elite QB’s are more often and consistently making deep runs in the playoffs to championship games and Super Bowls.

Rodgers was in playoffs 8 years in a row and I think 10 or 11 of 13 years going to 4 or 5 championship games.

Limiting the discussion to who’s winning Super Bowls again an attempt to spin supporting a narrative.

Brees and Saints a consistent contender much like Wilson and Brees are now despite how the team around them evolved within the Cap.

That’s what Elite talent at QB does for you. Is it a guarantee for winning SB. Of course not but it’s sure darn more easier to remain on top always a threat.

There's no such thing as a $5m impact player unless it's a rookie deal.

Solid depth, sure. But impact player, no.

Yup.

Be lucky to get 3 impact players for 40 mil nowadays. More like 2 when talking about a combination of DE, DT, LB, WR, or CB.

The Saints had three straight 7-9 seasons under the Brees / Peyton regime. But yet no one was screaming for their heads.
They weren't all that consistent. But more than Garrett.

Since Brees took over at QB they had 8 winning season, 5 losing season, and an 8-8 season.

Made NFCC game 3 times, of course won a SB as well. Lost WC or Divisional round all the other times. 5 times for those that do not want to click the link, but want to comment anyway.

Once they start having to let Chris Jones and other DLiners go, most likely yes. Chris was a bigger reason than Mahomes that KC won. He allowed Mahomes the comeback chance.

If your QB has the ability to carry a team, you can subsidize the roster with good drafting and clever free agent signings for a decade.

It doesn't matter what you pay him in that circumstance.

If your QB can't carry a team, and yet you still give him a massive percentage of your salary cap, then the roster will fall apart around him, and you're in purgatory for years and years.

Aaron Rodgers disagrees w/ you!!!!

And there's much evidence to the contrary. Take Brady out of the equation, due to having an all time great HC, and you don't get any success after being paid. Can't really think of any QB who has even made a super bowl since being paid.

The Patriots had a Super Bowl drought between 2004 and 2014 so those years where Brady was one of the highest paid coincides with that. This might be a chicken/egg thing, though.

Unless it's a backup OL and your starter goes down. Then that 5 mil makes a HUGE impact!!!!!

How much we paying Filo? He saved our season.

How much we paying Woods? We suck when he's out.

How much is Joe Thomas making? He saved our season last year, though it was thrown away by others.

What did we pay Cobb?

Those 5 million dollar players can make a huge impact.

How much are the Chiefs paying Damien Wilson?

It wouldn't have made a lick of difference if they gave Brady a contract like Rodgers.

He just didn't demand it because his wife makes more money than an entire salary cap.
