Which has zip to do with the point I was making. But you sure didn't seem to appreciate the idea of you taking a pay cut.

It has everything to do with the point you were making. Nobody cares and would ask him to take a discount if there was not a cap.

You compared apples to oranges. Nobody on this board cares if Jerry keeps 10 million more per year.

Kind of an entitled frame of mind in my opinion. I mean, who are any of us fans to determine worth of something we have zero control over.
I said it before, why isn't there more fans pissed off we didn't "build a championship team" in his 1st 4 seasons when he wasn't making crap? What about Elliott, Lawrence and the O line? It's not greed, he outperformed his rookie salary and draft position by far.
No, it's not. It's a logical frame of mind. And if you don't want to discuss it, you don't have to!!!!!!!!!

We are pissed off about it. Where ya been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His accuracy still sucks, I've never seen another QB that throws such bad balls , especially on crossing routes,. That's hyped as much as he. As the year went on , his bad balls seemed to get worse. Behind our O line and receivers, he should be hitting in the 70 percentile. Like to see what would have happened without Amari being such a threat with or without the ball to the opposing team. He improved from last year in the beginning, but then started going downhill. Good accuraye and, don't have to have Ur feet set. Romo, Steve Young, tarkenton, Montana, Aikman, Roger, Danny white, Meridith,. And on and on. This guy has a serious passing problem. And the reason more ppl didn't refute romo getting his contract, is Romo had IT. ROMO had the goods and was the core of the Dallas offense for years, when he didn't have equal talent around him. Romo was elite talent. Dak is AVG only because he is big enough to get yards when he runs.
HAHAHA!!!! Romo had IT? If you're referring to CHOKING UNDER PRESSURE, then yes, you are absolutely right. Romo was lucky to have receivers like Terrell Owens, Terry Glenn, Jason Witten, Myles Austin and Dez Bryant...all multi-1,000 yard seasons receivers still in their primes.

What has Dak had?

Not sure why you would assume I don't want to discuss it. Did I not say my opinion? Yikes.

Why limit him to 50? Lets just pay Dak half the cap, surround him with scrubs, and watch him drown....... painful to watch but it would prove a point.

So I guess I will ask the question to you...How did Dallas, according to many here, field one of the most talented offenses/complete roster in 2016, with Tony Romo's massive deal on the books?

By renegotiating Romo's deal, and by having crapp for backups.

His salary is none of our business. We are not stakeholders in the team in any financial way. People like to pretend fans are important. But truthfully we are merely the sheep who get sheered.

Perfect. So this argument that we can't pay Dak because it would mean a less talented roster is null and void. The Cowboys will treat Dak EXACTLY like they treated Romo...give him his money...and then "renotigate and have crapp for backups." Since that approach led to Dallas having one of the best rosters, according to many here, ever in 2016...we all can agree to take that same approach in 2020 with regards to Dak's contract.

So we can stop saying that giving Dak his money will lead to a terrible roster for Dallas.

No, you're oversimplifying. Crappy backups and crappy D keeps those losses piling in. Pay Dak a max amount, and we'll never get it fixed.

We didn't have one of the best rosters ever in 2016. You're falling for spew way too much.

Truthfully, if you believe it's none of our business, you shouldn't click into threads about his salary. That really makes no sense.

What kind of roster was Dak given in 2016? Great, mediocre, terrible?

I have never heard anyone -- especially those who are not fond of Dak -- describe that roster as anything other than the most talented roster in recent Dallas history, if not ever. I have repeatedly seen posts noting that in 2016 Dallas had a championship roster, probably the best in the league. Which is the reason, supposedly, folks still bemoan Romo not playing in 2016. This is the first time I have seen someone downplay the talent in 2016.

Unless we are now doing a 180 and saying Dak shouldn't have been expected to win a SB in 2016 because "crappy d and crappy backups kept the losses piling in."

If memory serves me correct, Tony Romo was given not one but two market setting contracts. So I would love to hear your opinion on how weak the 2016 roster was because this would literally be the first time in 4 years I have heard that roster described as anything but elite.

You should listen to more people.

The D in 2016 was mediocre at best. That roster was not even close to the most talented roster we've ever had. The 07 roster was more talented.

You're kinda all over the place. What's that scribble about Dak?
