This entire post merely strengthens my contention that I’m “glass half full”, while you’re “glass half empty”!
I've been a glass half full Cowboys fan most of my life. Until these past few years.

A mediocre QB and bad defense is a terrible combination. You can have one, but not the other.

33 to what 35? That’s fine. Bet it gets turned down and everyone saying he doesn’t want upwards close to 40, “he’s not greedy”, will most likely turn around their stance to their favor. “Well worth it.” Smh

That we’ll disagree until he gets us to the super bowl.

That’s just it. Dak is working hard to rise above mediocre. For the next 2-4 years, he should have a really good OL, RB, WR and HC. The ST has nowhere to go but up, and if they handle the next few months well, the defense could actually improve.

I see the possibilities and I’m intrigued, excited about the coming season. I can’t wait to see what happens. If it doesn’t turn out, I’ll throw my fit, get over it, and move on with hope. You’re disappointed and frustrated, and let me tell you, it’s a massive waste of your time. You’re smart and a great writer, and you need to return to last year’s mindset.

I appreciate all that and come September, I'll be glued to the tube hoping against my instincts to be wrong.

But last year really showed the limitations of this roster. It's easy to blame Garrett, but I think the problem is far deeper than that. It's a bad mix of largely unlikable players.

Dak is one the most likable guys, but I just think he's too limited. Unless, of course, you build a defense like the Ravens or Steelers had 10 years ago. That isn't here at the moment. Hard to do.

I go off what I've seen and not off what I want to believe because I have a distrust in management etc. Jerry has proven over and over that he is too generous about QBs. France has proven that he is a cut throat agent and all we have to do is look at how he's conducted his past negotiations, which are a matter of record. Dak, well, we don't have much in the way of history but we do have one thing. We know that Dak fired his former agent and replaced him with the most cut throat agent in the business. What does that tell us? I'm not painting this picture. This picture is already completed. I'm just pointing out the facts that we know.
Jerry has been generous in paying his quarterbacks? Who Romo? How about how Jerry has paid players in general? How is what he's doing with Dak any different than the Dez, Zeke and Lawrence negotiations?

Well that’s where I differ. I’m not going to believe either party over the other. I’d never trust a football owner over personnel. It’s a cut throat league. I expect them to be just cut throat.

We do differ there. We know Jerry and how he's treated these kinds of deals in the past. Stupid with QB contracts basically. Never cheap on them. We know Frances. Cut Throat in his negotiations and it's a matter of well defined record. We don't have a lot on Dak but we do know

Not just Romo, over and over. Jerry gave Troy Aikman the richest deal in the history of the NFL, by a lot. It's not just Tony Romo and we are seeing the very same thing play out here with Dak. You dispute this?

IF it was offered. Once again last I saw that was a rumor.

Based on what? Intuition?

Simple. See what his peers got and that's a start You need Byron Jones to hit the market to know what he will get or a ball park?

Facts. Imagine if he had a real coach. Would've probably had a top 3 season. He surely wouldn't' have lost that Vikings game.
Facts: he had coach, one of the best , a coach that worked with Cam Chancellor,Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman. Facts :if Conner Williams dont screw up his block, they definitely dont lose the minnesota game.

Last year I was prepped to have the best funnest year in a long time. Then we started great and I was even more filled with joy. Then we crumbled. This team almost lost me, but I been doing for WAY too long to jump ship NOW. It's a bit liek the stock market...if you don't get out early, you suck it up and go along with the ride. :lmao2:

I wouldn't send another proposal. What the team has offered is much more than fair......he and is agent are just playing games now........tag him for this year and work on his replacement in the draft.....enough is enough

Funny how every a little unimportant detail about Dak's, Zeke, DLaw n Amari contract is giving to the media and it blows up like big news. You already know the final result.

News would be if Dak hit FA or got traded, other than that, just a bunch of fluff.

Does that make it any less true? How many franchise QBs has Jerry seen in his years as owner? Two, maybe three? Well, the first two he paid very, very generously. So its not just Romo.

I just think the they handle free agents differently now than they did 30 years ago.

This is like paying Jeff Heath $15 million a year.
Not even close. Heath wouldn't turn that down. Plus I don't get all the Jeff hate. I don't think he brags about himself. I don't think he on social media calling out the fans. I don't think he's selling sunglasses in the locker room. The guy shows up every day and tries to do his best. Is that less than other safety's? Sure.

In terms of CBA they do but in how Jerry views players and position, I don't really think so. Jerry has always given the QB way more control over things then he should, IMO. He has always over paid them IMO. I don't know what would lead anybody to believe that this has changed. Jerry is essentially offering Dak a record deal, according to reports, right now. Dak wants more. That doesn't change the fact that Jerry is Offering Dak a record deal.
