Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign DT Gerald McCoy

So funny to see people make comments like this when you know damn well you didn't watch a single Gerald McCoy snap last season.

Panthers fans on their message boards/reddit all said he was a bright spot on the defense last season.
Watched every single Panthers game last year.

He wasn't a bright spot. He was on an inconsequential player on a bad team and now he's even further on the wrong side of 30

You can put your pom poms down. You dont have to pretend every move is a good one.

You probably said Hill was a good draft choice last year

We need more than below average stop gaps at our weak spots

You very well could be right. But your opinion is just that, an opinion and not fact.

I'm of the opinion of this is a lot like the Robert Quinn signing. Both were really good players on their original team for a long time that moved to second team and had a "down" year. So maybe like Quinn, McCoy shows up and plays even better with his third team than he did his second? Sure, McCoy is just over 2 years older than Quinn, but we did not have to trade for McCoy and at around the reported ~$7 million a year, he is coming in cheaper than Quinn did (at ~$8 million cap hit in 2019).

Either way, I can't wait to see what McCoy actually does on the field first before claiming this transaction as a terrible signing.

Take the word of the Panthers fanbase over at Reddit and respected film room analysts on Twitter such as Sturm and Owning who say he had a productive season last year

or

take the word of a Cowboys fan who claims he saw every Panthers game last season and says he’s “completely washed”

tough decision here

Do you watch every single Cowboy game too? And those of yet other teams?

This might explain his 35+ QB pressures last year...........again this is a solid signing.

Lol you were not watching real good then. McCoy was ranked the 3rd best Dlineman in the NFL (PFF) against the run last year behind Donald and Calais Campbell. He was 12th against the Pass, I am glad you're not our GM.

Thanks, Buzzkill! No positive news allowed. Back to all negative 24/7.
You forgot to add that we now get one less comp pick next year.

WE STILL HAVE TO REMAKE THE INTERIOR DLINE VIA DRAFT.
That's probably way behind remaking the secondary. As of now, they dont have a replacement for Byron or Heath. And Awuzie is a free agent next year. Expect a draft heavy in secondary players.

They at least have McCoy, Woods, Crawford, Hill inside. Might pick another guy in the draft but they wont go heavy on Dline.

Did I miss some of the contracts terms? Any rumors?

I suspect we are going CB in round 1 now - probably the kid from Florida. I'd still take Kinlaw if he's there though.
Yep, CJ Henderson is the pick if he's there. If he's gone, then Arnette or Gladney in round two.

100% agreed. People have to start realizing Crawford isn't going anywhere. They dislike Hill but he likely gets reps this season

With McCoy the interior D-Line took a big step forward, so there isn't that much to remake. I'm not sure getting another edge rusher for RDE and leaving Woods at 1T wouldn't work out well.
