Detroit just signed DT Danny Shelton to a 2-year, $8 Million contract. He is a 26-year old, 6' 2" 345+ pound run stuffing specialist who had 61 tackles and 3 sacks last season. He would have been a nice get for Dallas given their issues with run defense last year.
So $10 Million for BOTH McCoy and Shelton would have really helped plug up the middle of the defensive line.
McCoy is a far superior run defender than Collins. Collins is a better rusher at this point in McCoy's career. McCoy is still better all-around. this is a very good pickup.
"Mentioned on @nflnetwork earlier: Expect DT Gerald McCoy's three-deal with the #Cowboys to come in somewhere in the range of $20 million. So north of $6 million per year. "

You are starting to see the Matrix! That seems pretty cheap.
I wonder if his son going to Oklahoma had anything to do with a pretty discounted contract?
Stinks. I was hoping they'd add another DT like a Shelton. But I wonder if they think McCoy is enough and just then look to the draft.
Danny Shelton: 6-2/335Rather just draft a fat guy over Shelton and save the money....Fotu?
Yeah, we don't know what Collins got yet though.Nice. This should only cancel out either Collins' or Witten's comp pick, right?
Danny Shelton: 6-2/335
You don’t bench that type of salary when you can waive it. Like I said if he’s here, he’s starting and he’s playing a minority of the snaps
No he isn't.

meant majority. Typing in my phoneWaive it.
You don't follow up the dumb move of paying that money for crap by forcing it into the starting lineup.
And if he's "Starting", how is it a "minority of the snaps"? Do you know the difference?
