Seems to me they want to go all defence in the draft. Cobb leaving threw a wrench in to those plans. I would still go defense first 3 picks and grab a receiver that slides to the 4th. But Griffen is a key to all that. My hope is that we plan on going CB S DT early. I don't want to have to reach for DE early.

I also was hoping for TE in there somewhere. Our O has been screaming for a playmaker there. I think Jarwin can be a great 2nd TE. Not sure his game can improve enough to be a difference maker.

But I think we all know that this defence needs more than one off season to be fixed. So in order to compete, our offence needs to be in the top 3 in scoring, not just yards.
For all the talk about a defensive draft, they better do something to address the offense losing close, low scoring games and the offense being horrible for the first three quarters of games.

It's like they are literally terrified of getting burned in free agency. I understand not relying heavily on high priced free agents, but there is nothing wrong with taking some chances in that area of roster building. Maybe they are too concerned trying to emulate New England. They totally have cap space to use this season and in future years but once again are choosing not to use it. There are no young studs on the horizon waiting to get re-signed outside of maybe Gallup, but its not like you have several extensions to worry about. That excuse wont fly any longer.
Stephen is a tight-wad and that is not something that just started. He was against signing D. Sanders years ago and that was about as much of a sure thing as it comes in free agency.

They did do something - a new coaching staff.

That only works if you're constantly drafting well. This approach wont work with Taco Charlton and Trystian Hill headlining your draft class. I'm giving them the benefit of doubt concerning LVE's neck injury, but that's a bit shaky at the moment.

OK, I am actually surprised that Sanders deal is less than what Cobb got with the Texans, goes to show how badly they overpaid. And should be evidence how out of touch people who were thinking you would get Sanders on a one year cheap deal like Cobb took last year. Cobb was coming off down years and was considered over the hill before last year. No one was thinking that regarding Sanders.

Cobbs deal is 3 years for 27m with 18.75m guaranteed Not sure what the guarantee is for Sanders, but even with incentives Cobb will make more. Houston just keeps making ridiculous moves.

The 4 best things the Cowboys could do top help win those close low scoring games are:

1. New kicker (done)
2. Improve defense
3. Improve special teams
4. New HC (done)

Having the worst starting field position in the league killed the Cowboys last year. Making the offense consistently drive the length of the field isn't a recipe for winning.

Yeah I'd rather look to the draft for our 3rd WR.
Its one of the deepest WR draft classes that I can remember, so Im there as well, was just throwing out some of the more notable still remaining.
Breshad Perriman is rather intriguing to me,, considered a total bust, but really started to finally break out last year in TB and show why he was drafted so high.

If you want a WR to play with Prescott you're gonna have to resort to the draft. Like the military did for WW2.
Or maybe because we have a cheap Front office that likes their guys...

Dak Hater's can't help themselves :lmao2:

Saints going all in again to try to win with Brees. I don’t blame them. But I also don’t know how teams like the Saints and Eagles just have a non existent cap

Any team that wants to and manages its money right has a nonexistent cap.

We just think Dallas is concerned about its cap because the Joneses have made it a policy to not pay much for outside FAs.

For this reason, anyone expecting them to sign Griffin is sure to be disappointed.

I doubt many WRs would come to Dallas knowing that those passes over the middle are inaccurate and tends to result in taking some big hits for the WR.
Or maybe we have a cheap Front office and Garrett's leadership wasn't worth the team friendly deals Stephen wants

In this case Sanders chose Saints because of Allen Lazard and Michael Gallup.. young up and coming 2nd teir WRs...
Emmanuel knows he has a better chance of beating Ted Gin Jr in camp...get real bro

We have Wilson and Devin Smith. Let them compete in TC.

My guy is Jon'Vea Johnson, but I'm scared of just having unprovens compete for the job. I'd rather see them earn the job over a proven player.

For example, if Cobb had left in FA because Smith or Wilson had cut into his playing time due to deserving it, then I'd be all for just letting them compete for the job. Not the case. Each player had opportunities and didn't take full advantage of them. Giving them a bigger role doesn't necessarily mean they will do better.

I'm hoping they address actual problems, not fantasy ones that come to life here as one dolt after another spreads them like a virus.

Wilson was on IR, and the stupid coaching staff kept Smith inactive for the rest of the season after having a few very good weeks to start.
I understand what you are saying though. I don't think they will be handed this role, yes they will compete.
