If Stephen/Jerry were smart, they would give in on the 4 year deal, but insist on a lower annual average $ value so that they could use the extra money to field a better team around him (including a C to replace TFred and 3WR).
I am guessing this has entered their minds already. ;)

:facepalm:yeah.....we're really gonna miss garrett.
:facepalm:yeah....our dline was much better inside than McCoy/Poe.
:facepalm:yeah....we're really gonna miss Heath at S...no way Clinton-Dix is better.
:facepalm:you're right....we shoulda let Cooper walk.
:facepalm:yeah...who needs a franchise QB.
:facepalm:yeah.....we've never played a season without Travis Frederick.

stop hating your team.

How many rushing yards did McCoy and Poe give up last season...
Clinton-Dix will look flashy, get some nice picks but there will be a load of blown coverages.
Cooper signing was good. He has even made Prescott look serviceable in the past.
Prescott is not a franchise QB.
Acting as though Frederick is easily replaced is laughable.

Last two years (from the Herd) Cowboys rankings
with Frederick. Yards per play # 1. Second fewest sacks allowed in the NFL
without Frederick. Yards per play #22. Second most sacks allowed in the NFL.

Plus Byron Jones has gone.

I'm not hating just providing a reality check to those who think that pigs fly.

There have been NO OFFICIAL sources stating contract amounts so stop reposting them!

The one tweet people keep reposting was from someone outside the loop using a common twitter marketing tactic. In the end, that person may be right, but until then, it's nothing but pure speculation that anyone could make.

You can of course make your own predictions all you want, but stop acting like one random person on Twitter, who most people have never heard of, knows any "inside information" beyond what the rest of the more connected media people know.

mccoy and poe are better than collins and woods.
clinton-dix is better than heath.
The Herd is wrong....Frederick missed '18...we haven't had him for the last 2yrs.
plus on his show he failed to mention we went an entire season without him and had success.
i have never said he is easily replaceable...in this thread or any other.
no one will.
but Looney did an admirable job and McGovern...our likely starter...might be better than Joe.

Dak IS a franchise QB...2nd most wins over the last 4yrs...2 division titles for this team...2 playoff appearances...not bad for a 4th rd pick who is still under 30 and we might get him for 35 mil instead of 40.
thats a win.

turn off the herd....and duck.
flying pigs poop.

 We need to get a real franchise QB.

Same exact poster that said that probably said this a month ago

Haters gonna hate

 Fire Garrett!
 our dline sucks, we need a big fat guy like Poe and a vet leader like McCoy.
 Heath sucks! Anyone would be better.
 Our moron front office should sign Amari immediately!!!
 We need a franchise QB! Draft one at 17! Fromm is the next Pat Mahomes!

I took it as meaning the last two years as in when Frederick played and didn't play...unless they got their data wrong which they might have done to be fair.

They may have done an admirable job but Looney and McGovern are not Frederick.

The other points Herd made though were pretty much bang on the money.

But is Clinton-Dix really better than Heath? The guy takes a lot of chances which are boom or bust. Ultimately he will fail on assignments, the type of player Belichick would never have on his roster and his team wins Superbowls.

I have stated my position regarding Prescott on countless occasions. Where he was drafted is irrelevant as to whether he is a franchise QB. So the offensive line and running game didn't play a HUGE part in those labels you associate with him? I look at the tangibles. E.g. How many games did he actually play a central role in the Cowboys winning last season...for me it was zero. So you can bang on about 5000 throwing yards etc - I'm genuinely impressed with how he did it because he was so ineffective last season. Like an illusion. The Scarlet Pimpernail.

We will have to agree to disagree.

Dr. Fauci told me that the apex of negotiations have been reached at 35 mil per. Just haggling on # of years. :muttley:

Unfortunately Dak is not the answer at QB for a top caliber team such as the cowboys . Therefore , any long term deal is a waste of time for a team that is serious about a Super Bowl run. When your QB cannot beat the jets or score a TD against a depleted Eagles team , or is 1-6 against winning teams , then he writing is on the wall.
