Elite cornerbacks sounded off to disagree with Rex Ryan’s take on Amari Cooper

Are folks really taking what Rex Ryan has to say to heart?

Cowboys fans bombarded the network with tweets, along with other suddenly righteous reporters. So apparently, yes.

Same fans that will call players trash and same reporters that gave Romo crap for years for wearing his hat backwards.

This is the classic example of media trying to create news. Rex Ryan knows good and well Amari Cooper isn't a turd. But he has to say something controversial, especially during a cycle in which there is not much sports news, to get people talking. If he said this about AB, that's one thing - given AB's behavior. But to say it about Amari Cooper is a strict grab for ratings, clicks and self-generated controversy.
Even with AB it’s not one thing because unless I missed the whole thing AB on the field isn’t a turd and wasn’t that what Rex was talking about on the field play. Don’t confuse the two unless I missed something.

we already had along discussion going with our opinions on AC and rex in another thread.

, im glad they are defending him but Rex wasn't all wrong, maybe Turd was hard but the guy does disappear and not worth 20 IMO

we paid it because Dak needs his binkie and we already gave a 1 for the guy.. catch 22 doesn't mean he has some issues that were stated very correctly....
He has warts.

Bob Hayes had them, too.

I remember the Ice Bowl Game in '68 in GB.

Bobby has his hands tucked into the top of his pants running routes.

Nobody called him out as a dog. He was doing what he could.

Amari was injured alot of last year. We will never know how much really. Becuz you do not want your opponent to know so they can not take advantage.

Cooper cost us a #1 pick. So did Taco.

One was a bust, one has been to the Pro Bowl twice with us as a Cowboy.

People..especially sports fans are a fickle breed.

If you are a winner..you are a God.

If you lose a smidgeon, you become yesterday's news.

On and on and on and on....

Blogging the boys is basically homer propaganda. Players never want to give bulletin board material. Point being what do your eyes tell you. Other than crossing the line most of Ryan's observations were highly relevant.

Not even just this, but why would a corner admit he beat up on trash? That's not good for the personal brand.

Rex Ryan is no longer employed as a head coach in the NFL. I do not recall Rex Ryan getting any interviews for the numerous NFL openings this year. Listening to Rex Ryan speak now, it kind of makes sense. Hey Rex, better to remain silent and thought an idiot, than to open up your mouth and remove all doubt.

On second thought, I really wish the Skins would have hired Rex Ryan as their HC. He could bring Sanchez on as OC and still make good use of that Sanchez tattoo. He could bring his brother Rob back as DC. Now that would have been fun!

Rex, like his daddy, just can't get enough of himself. His head coaching resume consists of failed stints with the jets and bills.

top Elie WRs 1500 plus and 12-15Tds plus.. he got paid for under 1100 yards and thats not élite level thats just good these day in this so called "passing Era" under 1100 is just being a very good starting WR.. Put up 100 catches plus 1500 plus and double diguit scores + .. Dez had 4years in arrow where he met these and he was worth signing even which his injurys caught up to him. we railed on Dez for having a drop off after his new deal, well this was basically a repeat of history given that type of deal to AC , actually more so..at least Dez was destroying records and actually elite before he got paid, AC is a very good top notch WR, hes not elite..

we already saw this from AC in Oakland we knew he had PF foot issues etc yet hand him ELITE money..it was overpaying and if he wants to be in the norm thats under 18 bro,, dont waste your time convincing me other wise.. I see Hopkins, Thomas and Jones destroying stats and they influence every game they are in even when not targeted, AC decides to jog when hes the being the bait..it made it easier on the defense to defend the play call when they see AC isnt going full speed and cuts off his routes..all truths..

I get why they did it but Rex is right , it wasn't smart to do so,..
ooofff, you had to go and try to prop up Dez (which wasn't part of the topic) to crap on Cooper.... Bryant had 3 high level season in a row NOT 4. And they were right around the same statistically as what Copper has put up. Sorry, that's just a bad take.

Also, like I mentioned in another post, look at other WRs across the league game to game and it's pretty close with regard to ups and downs.

Some fans have their expectations WAY too high because they feel they are an authority on salary vs. production and that's the farthest from the truth. But they don't accurately compare. It's always hand picked.

Aikman would have failed if Dez was his #1 WR...

For Rex Ryan to say Amari Cooper is not a good route runner is flat out ridiculous!

To say he disappears in big games has been pretty accurate. Hopefully that changes this year.

Go Cowboys!!
Amari disappearing in big games is accurate, but...

How much of Amari's success depends on other players to perform well? Is he actually disappearing in these games or is the whole offense struggling. I mean, if the OLine is having a bad day chances are Dak is having a bad day also. And if Dak is having a bad day, Amari is having a bad day. So I just don't get the Amari disappears statement sometimes. Because other guys have to have a bad day before he does. So I find myself wondering if its just Amari or the whole offense.

he should not have been paid elite money for his production and warts..Bob hayes most likely sold shoes on the side to survive, please dont bring up different eras..they use to allow close lines, head slap's, tripping, blind side hits, and black and blue ERA. AC wouldn't not have been able to make the team, he would have got injured in the tryouts..dudes soft..

I said keep him , sure but at élite 20mil , I would have let him go to DC..poor little dak needed his binkie so we can go 8-8 again..

I loved Dez, but he never caught 100 passes, never had 1500 yards, and had 15 TDs once.

That said, Cooper hasn't matched Dez's stats. 83, 1189, and 8 are Cooper's highs. Hardly top tier in today's NFL.
