Thats my point3rd round
Thats my point3rd round
Thats my point
Hunter was drafted there because of the exact same deficiencies as ChaissonWhat point is that? That 32 teams missed on him at least twice? So you would recommend doing the same thing and missing out on a potentially great pass rusher?
I'm trying to get clarity on your point here?

Just because they went to the same school doesnt mean he will have a career like Hunter.
Now, could I be wrong , hell yeah, I'm an armchair college fan but I stand by my stance that he should have done more in that defense last year with the talent around him.
I'm sure he is in play for us at 17 and I'll be po'd if we take but I'll be hoping all his adorers are right.....

I hear you and his play in the final four impressed me more than the season itself....Chaisson was their only true edge rusher and was excellent over the second half, particularly the last 3-4 games in the SECC and the playoff games. The fact that he was coming off a torn ACL has to be taken into account.
Nick Bosa, confirmed second-round pick. But the cut off is 9.5 sacks lol
He plays the run very well which is actually one of his strengths. He also effectively missed his sophomore season having played in just one game due to injury, but I’m sure you knew that, right?
I did know that he didnt play his sophomore but 6.5 sacks against college competition last year? I'm sorry but by any standard that is low production.
Chase Young had 10.5 sacks his sophomore season - 16.5 last season
Gross-Matos had 8 sacks his sophomore season - 9.5 last season
A.J. Epenesa had 10.5 sacks his sophomore season - 11.5 last season
heck Taco had 10.5 sacks his last year in college
and if he is so strong against the run then why are the reports with Dallas about using him on passing downs?
teams dont just draft by stats alone, they look how a player will transition into the NFL too.
I get that - completely get that but that was also my original point. He is considered to have lots of upside. A project so to speak.
I do not think we can risk drafting a player in the first round that is a project. We need a day one starter and we need major help at corner now and in the future.
I also believe Dallas is very close to competing for a Super Bowl. We need 3 guys that can start day one with our first 3 picks. No projects.
we do need a corner but it is no guarantee a corner we draft (outside of Henderson) will start day 1 even if we draft a CB in the first 2 RDs,generally they take time to mature as its a hard position to learn.
What reports about Dallas using him just on passing downs?I did know that he didnt play his sophomore but 6.5 sacks against college competition last year? I'm sorry but by any standard that is low production.

1: Tyron Smith was a much bigger project when we took him. He almost made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Not all "projects" are the same. Chaisson will be a day 1 contributor for whomever drafts himI get that - completely get that but that was also my original point. He is considered to have lots of upside. A project so to speak.

I believe we liked Hunter a lot but we drafted randy gregory in the 2nd.
You love D. Hunter
And I don't blame ya
I'm not huge on Chaisson
But there really aren't that many better alternatives at 17
3 WRs
Kinlaw
Henderson
Chaisson
This is basically the group we are looking at..unless you want an OT, which I do not...there definitely are not many, if any other names that are better than him
For those of you who don't want Chaisson. Who would you rather have that isn't in that group above...let's just assume
Burrow
Young
Simmons
Brown
Okudah
Tua
Herbert are all gone
Again, me personally, I'm not interested in an OT..So for the sake of this exercise, let's just forget all of them
