Same way Charles Barkley was Elite with the 76'ers. Just didnt have the supporting cast. Being a heels fan, even MJ could not get past Larry Bird till Scottie got there.
Be honest here Pippen would’ve been basic if not for playing with MJ. It took 2-3 guys to even attempt to slow MJ down. Pippen benefitted from being an open slasher because of that. MJ would’ve beat Bird eventually as he matured and refined his game. Now that’s elite. Barkley wasn’t elite. He was a force and a freak of nature. But didn’t have what it took to get the jewelry.

Dak is not a top tier NFL quarterback. Nor is the line between 'really good' and 'elite' thin.

These two guys are clowns. If they (or you) can't look at Mahomes and see that he's elite -- and much better than a 'really good' guy like Matt Ryan -- I don't know what to say.

This has the feel of a Dak apology thread.
Mahomes LMAO he stunk up the Super Bowl. Another Hail Mary media lover boy. Take Prescott any day over him

Now see "Elite"works a little different in the NBA. I can actually understand that. One person can have a HUGE effect on the game. Dirk Nowtizki is a prime example of that. Lebron James. Steph Curry. That same impact can't be felt in the NFL. Far too many players, coaches, etc.
Which is why we have not witnessed many quarterbacks winning Super Bowls with multiple teams. Because they ALL NEES THE SUPPORTING CAST AND GOOD COACHING

You’re not making sense. Why would Jerry’s propaganda machine make up a fluff piece in attempts to get Dak paid more than Jerry wants to pay? That’s some dumb idiotic bs. Please proof read before posting.
You don’t get it Jerry is going to pay the $, the question is when. The DC.com is Jerry’s slant the facts rag and that is why most know Dak will get the $ being no more than average because Jerry has said many time he will get paid, it is really a shame that the DC will be saddled with average for the foreseeable future.

No. This is a factual thread to expose THE REAL CLOWNS who toss that elite bs around trying to sound smart.
FYI. Mahomes only looked ELITE for the last 8 minutes of the super bowl. If the 49ers would’ve ran the ball instead of trying to make Garoppolo look ELITE, Mahomes would be the SB loser.
Try reading the explanations these guys gave. Instead of pushing your personal agenda.
He threw up a Hail Mary that the wide receiver ran back for. Other than that he stunk up the Super Bowl

Pipen May have benefited from playing with MJ but who wouldn't have. But he was still pretty d-- good at both ends of the court.

You need to get a understanding of the NFL because if you think Dak is "average" you have no idea how to gauge the position. At his age Dak is one of the best quarterbacks this league has seen. That's just facts. Check any stat you want, check any record you want. Whatever you need to do. At Dak's age of 26-27 there aren't many more that have been better than him at this point in his career.

But that is a definition people use. You are "elite"if you can carry a team by yourself. Yet, no one actually does it by themselves. Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Pat Mahomes.....they are wrongfully given this accomplishment but they all have help.

Of course they all have help. And still they’re all, beyond reasonable dispute, elite.

So is Marino, with no SB titles. So was Fran Tarkenton, with no SB titles. Eli, with his 2 SBs, is considered elite nowhere outside of NYC.

This push to do away with broadly recognized and meaningful categories in order to prop up someone/something that is generally understood not to fit in the category is rampant these days. It strikes me as nothing more than sloppy, tendentious thinking.

The use of categories to tear down certain players and solidify your agenda is even more rampant these days. Can you dispute that? Hell no! It strikes me as the laziest and most ignorant way of thinking known to man. How bout that?

Fact is, the term "elite" is flawed. And its flawed even in your post. So Marino is elite with no SB titles. But Eli Manning isn't elite event though he has 2 Super Bowl titles.

This is a prime example why its silly. Fact is, in order to be "elite" you have to look the part. Marino looked the part. Big quarterback with a big arm and accuracy. That's it. Its why people make so many excuses for Carson Wentz. He looks the part.

People can't get behind Eli because he doesn't. Even though in his resume he's beaten Tom Brady and the Pats TWICE. Did it with 9 win teams. And he wasn't a guy just a long for the ride. He made plays to win those games. But he doesn't "look the part". That's why its such a silly term.
