Only 4 QBs in NFL history have won more games their first four seasons than Dak. If you want to put all the blame on him for the season we had last year and none on the defense go ahead. He balled out against the two teams that ended up in the NFC title game but our defense couldn’t hold up. Our defense got shredded by Mitch Trubisky and Sam Darnold. You need to take a closer look at as to why we ended up 8-8.

So when we lose it ain;t dak's fault and when we win it is. Gotcha!

That’s your spin you have an agenda. The point is it’s not all all on the QB. Some of you pin every loss on Dak.

Without getting into the pro/con argument of Dak, the above post makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Dak can't be held responsible for the awful defense, special teams, kicker, and head coach from last year.

Our defense was the biggest problem. The biggest problem we had on offense was an inconsistent kicker. We scored over 30 points six times and over 40 points twice. Granted we left some TDs out there in critical situations but we can go far with this offense if we can improve the defense.

We can but the offense not showing up for half the game caused some of the losses. Defense was still top 10 but they took a step back for sure.

So basically, we went 8-8 with a loaded roster and a cheap rookie contract. 0 playoff wins in 4 years.

... and you want to give him a $100 million contract? Thank the Giants and Commanders for gifting us 4 wins.
Special teams and defense was "loaded"

Only thing loaded is your BS.

These stats are giving recognition to Dak's improvement as a passer. That's all. Cowboys fans should be proud of this considering so many complained Dak was not a pure passer coming out of college. This proves Dak has been improving over his first 4 years in the league.

I don't see how a stat improves him as a passer. Quarterbacks don't play in a vacuum, a lot of other factors go in to their stats. For example, in many cases the quarterback of the losing team has over 300 yards passing. There's a reason for that. and it's not that he is a better passer.

The thing I struggle with were the number of games where Dallas just got their butts handed to them.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401128029

The Green Bay game where it was 31 to 3 at one point. The defense was terrible but the offense couldn't do anything either. GB basically packed it in late and Dak finished with 463 of the most meaningless yards any quarterback has ever had.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401128017

The Buffalo game where it was 26-7 at one point and the offense was completely worthless when the game mattered. Again, Buffalo went into prevent later in the game and Dak finished with 355 yards.

There were several other games where the offense was terrible and Dak couldn't do anything. NO, NYJ, @Phil, etc.

I just really struggle to give Dak any credit for last year. Most of his yards seemed like when Dallas was either up big or down big. When the game was in the balance, he came up short.

Side note: In general, I think Dallas can win with Dak as QB but you need a significantly better defense, better special teams and just more discipline in general. He is a bus driver who isn't going to lose you many games and will hit open receivers but he isn't going to carry a mediocre team deep in the playoffs.
Exactly

The defensive ranking was completely misleading it’s based totally on yards. We can’t make key stops, we don’t get turnovers and can’t keep teams out of the end zone in critical situations. Our defensive ranking doesn’t tell you that.

How many game winning drives did he have for us last season? How many did he fail on? That's the only true stats I give a damn about.

Oh, really? So those 300 yards showed up by some miracle on their own?

Are you serious?
The Cowboys were 8-8 in the worst division in the NFL and couldn't beat a crippled Eagles team to get into the playoffs;
And you think this makes that alright?
They beat the Eagles earlier in the year at home. Why are you bringing that up? Agenda much?

They show up usually because you're getting your *** kicked and have to catch up. The other team doesn't care and is just running clock. This has been happening since the late 80s.

Not true. Every accumulation of passing game yards has it's own explanation.

Ok.. And? That's a winning record. What's your point?

My point is that it's meaningless. It's practically 50/50. I could go back other seasons and show a losing record. That was just for 2019. There's weeks with every 300 yard passer on the losing team.

Ok. So you would rather have Dak not pass for 300 yards?
