Who said reach? They need S and CB. Trade down. Grab Delpit and get another 2 and 3. They secondary needs a lot of attention.

Trading down was the other option.

We'll see who's right over time. I liked that they held and took BPA.

I'm not sure on Deplit, but if they traded back he'd be what they were going for.

Lamb was BPA. If BPA is a clear upgrade especially at QB, LDE, CB, WR, LT you take them. Get real.. QB set, LDE set, LT set but need soon, CB not one worth picking, WR there are three on field. If you can get a cheap contract for their production, you take them. The third CB vs any of our WR is a mismatch. Not to mention good luck stacking the box. I understand it’s not a DE or CB. I wanted one too. I didn’t see one better than Lamb.

I’m buying a Lamb Jersey.

Jesus Christ Ruiz's dad was born in 1980.....we have NFL players who dads were born in 1980......damn.

Jerimiah Trotter, Jr. is in the draft, his dad played for my alma mater, Stephen F. Austin, great, now guys my age now have their kids in the NFL.

Heck to be old...

Why would you need Lamb caliber when you have a young WR we just paid and Gallup? You get we still have Zeke that will want to be fed, so there is only so many balls to go around.
They managed to feed Zeke, Cooper, Cobb and Gallup last year. And being Cooper doesn't show upon the road......they needed another guy.

Where exactly do you think Lamb was ranked? I feel like some of you think he was a top 5 talent. He wasn't, he's not a Julio Jones.

That looks like the kind of guy who you can't pass on at #17 to me. Especially when it fills a need. Not to mention if the Cowboys don't take him, the Eagles probably find a way to. This was the smart pick in the short and long run. This team needs more talent, not just hole fillers. Add to it there was no consensus on safety or any other position left like there was with Lamb. I wanted Chaisson, but as others pointed out, he just doesn't have great tape. We've gotten burned so many times just taking athletes or potential. Why not take the surest thing on the board, the BPA, a player widely regarded as the best in the draft at his position?

When it comes down to it, Dallas graded Lamb as a blue chip player. Not a first rounder, but a blue-chip guy. If there is one sitting there late (This reminds me of the Dez Bryant trade a decade ago), you count your lucky stars and don't be stupid. There was a reason both McCarthy and Jerry were giddy as hell on the clock.

Forget the name, when you are on the clock at #17 and your #6 guy is available, the only way you don’t take him is if one of your first 5 guys is available. There really is no reason to be upset with this pick. The people that are just have to complain about everything no matter what. They would be the first ones complaining about passing on him.
