LMAO...pretty much like Jerry Jones when it comes to Dallas. Always chasing the dream versus dealing with reality. Dream?? Super Bowls after Jimmy-Switzer. Reality? NO Super Bowls. Reality? Dak is way better then Dalton. Who fumbles-stumbles and throws int's like giving out Halloween candy at the end of October. Reality usually always ring true.

Dalton is not a top 10 QB but he's better than Dak which really isn't saying much as the ceiling is very low when it pertains to Dak's talent base!

woman-trying-to-stand-under-low-ceiling-in-room-lit-by-single-bulb-picture-id200477183-003

I know a lot of fans hate Dak, but grasping at straws like this is ridiculous. In nine seasons Andy Dalton has completed better than 61 percent of his passes only four times. He's also posted a passer rating better than 90 just twice.

Dak is a top 12 quarterback in today's NFL, Dalton isn't even in the top 25. Dak has superior arm strength, accuracy, athleticism, and yes, upside. Dak is 26, Dalton is 32. To use Dalton's Pro Bowl appearances as validation of his talent is a joke. Half the league makes the Pro Bowl in this era.

We haven't seen the best of Prescott yet. His haters think he's still the QB he was in 2017 when Zeke was suspended and ignore what he's done from the second half of 2018 onward. Dak is already better than Donovan McNabb and Steve McNair were in their prime and both those guys got to the Super Bowl. Let's see how Prescott does with a competent head coach, too.

You have to prepare for life otherwise we've already lost.

I get it...I am a "pessimist" by nature, according to some people. I prepare for the worst and hope for the best...BUT.....Preparing for a false scenario is madness. Making up stats to prove false scenarios to prepare for is psychotic.

Then I must ask....why didn't Cincy continue to ride with Andy, and simply make Chase Young the #1 pick in the NFL Draft?
Andy was only going to cost $17M

Why did Andy settle for low cost/1 yr deal, so fast?

Were there other teams vying for his services?
Why did we sit a good veteran QB for a playoff super bowl run? Because he was a GREAT QB? Or superstition? "Oh look we're on a winning streak you can;t bring bad luck and sit him now".

That is what happened. And you sit there and ask why people make insane decisions? Come on.

Every Cowboy fan should love this signing . Only Dak fans wouldn’t like it. Unfortunately on these fan forums star players attract those fringe fans who aren’t necessarily Cowboy fans. We had the same issues with Romo.

I'm a Dak fan and I like the signing. Since 2017 this team has always been one play away from Cooper Rush under center. Andy Dalton gives me peace of mind.

Don't understand why the Garrett regime didn't seem to value QB depth.

Sorry but I disagree. Long term contract were the norm in the NBA because it allowed owners to keep money in their pockets. Once LeBron took control of his career and started signing short contracts then all star players started to do it. NFL agents have become hip to this. Daks agent is asking for a shorter contract is not the first as Kirk Cousins actually turned the trick a few years ago and has already cashed in on a bigger check. Zeke got bamboozled into a long contract as well while McCaffreys agent demanded a shorter contract which allows McCaffrey to have another big contract while he is still in his prime. The problem is JJ is opposed to change.

Me personally I watch the games for the players. Sure Jerry is entertaining in a frustrating type of way but give the players the money. Sure they make too much to play a kids game but I like that kid game and I only watch it because of the players.

What Jerry and Stephen do with the money coming from the contracts isn't being revealed and neither is the money that players receive get revealed. How it's spent once they're paid isn't the public's business. Whether it's being used in future acquisitions or something else is entirely a non specified subject. Rather, it's what some might consider as negative suspicious speculation without concrete proof. There are players who take advantage of their owners just as surely as there are owners who would do the same to their players. Fair play is the individual's obligation. That's what bargaining in good faith is based upon. Without that, contracts have no chance of being agreed to.

a double dog lie. You "make your decisions" based on your bias and agenda. Actin like you haven't any is pure psychosis.
If dak played like trubisky i would want him replaced. The hate he gets here after having a career year shows more bias and agenda on the other side when there are no facts to base their claims except tHe EyE teSt durr

Yeah, I am. This team isn’t winning with any back up
QB so I’d ratter the position be filled with a potential future starter than someone on the downside of their career, especially one who isn’t good. If they were serious about the position they would spend a little draft capital in it though.

Jerry is an idiot who hit the lotto. Dak should be 35-36. I said last offseason he shoulda been paid and his deal would have looked great especially after mahomie and watson get paid
no SHOULKD no jackpot... he solid starter but not in that realm and Jerry has many advisors hes no business idiot and knows what products are worth.. players are products ie commoditys.. hes very good at that,, dont get it twisted daks at best a 28-33 mil h=guy and jerry right for Tagging him..

KC hit the jackpot with Mahomes.. note the difference..they got rid of their Dak ie Smith and jackpot turned into gold..

No, Dak isn’t a top 5 QB, but market and whatever QB ranking you choose to go by are not the same thing. Markets don’t freeze until the best player negotiates a new contract. Market is supply and demand, not a Sports Illustrated poll.

The caps don’t make your argument stronger, by the way. They actually suggest emotion rather than reason.
neither does the nonsense that every qb derves next man up market explain the 28 who wil make UNDER 30, the elite can make demands Daks not that and he was offered very fair market value..markets go up and down, you must not follow the stock market , daks 8-8 campaign weak finish and missing playoffs now twice in 3 years with obvious warts..

his markets DOWN...buy low trade high..get with the program at some point there are starters who dont get the next big deal..

Jerry making my point as he didnt throw market money at dak..Winston, marriota, and others did not find the end of the rainbow,,think its not what you think unless and owner believes it is and many of us are thinking jerry's correct,,get dak lower or start finding anew qb..

I thought about the third one last night. One of the things I always hate in camp is when the backup quarterback or offensive line plays poorly because we don't really get a good look at the receivers.

Dalton is our Nick Foles, fight me

Not sure it's a great comparison, but I certainly believe a quarterback of his caliber is capable of winning a Super Bowl with the right team like Foles did.

This is the problem that we always run into with the quarterback argument. Sure, you want the best one out there, but there have been several decent ones who won Super Bowls because of the team they are on: Foles, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Mark Rypien, Jeff Hofstetler ...

With the right team, Dalton could do what those quarterbacks did, but our problem has been that the team hasn't been good enough even when we've gotten elite level QB play.

Dak has a few errant throws or a bad game and fans will be screaming for Dalton. We all know it’s coming.

Yes. It's the only thing I don't like about this move.
