What?
Your either don't want to read and understand what I'm saying or you are doing it on purpose. Either way, there is no point in taking this discussion further.
What?
LOL the guy isn't even worth 20mil! So please don't speak for others. Can't see anyone other than you thinking this

That's what he wants, either they pay him or let him walk after they've paid him 140 for or 4, 105 for 3, if that's the guarantee, and they let him walk after 3.That's perfectly fine. That 5th year would be all non-guaranteed funny money. He'll be either extended or cut when his guarantees run out well before that 5th year anyway.
We know....You've told us this.No way he finishes the season as the starter for us....save this post to refer back to it when reality hits hard!
He's been pampered enough and we have suffered enough....NEXT PLEASE!!!
Nah you're the delusional one if you think this below-average QB is worth that contract. Dak isn't a difference-maker, so why pay him like he is one? You Dak fanboys are nuts! QB contracts are out of control, and it's time for teams to start getting them more down to earth. I'm good with the cowboys being the team to start that trend. Oh and if Dak was all that he would have been signed to a deal by now.Sounds like you are the delusional one lol.
That dude man......I don't know what his deal is.What?
Puts the ball back in Dallas’ courtThe article covers this pretty well. Dak would prefer a 4-year deal. If they want a fifth year, he's asking for a contract $10 million higher than what they've offered ($185 vs. $175).
Sounds like
Cowboys offer: 5 years, $175, $105 guaranteed
Dak's offers:
4 years, $140 OR
5 years, $185
I don't know what the guarantees he's asking for are.

Once again you have proven yourself to be delusional if you think he's "below average". I can't take your opinion serious on the matter.Nah you're the delusional one if you think this below-average QB is worth that contract. Dak isn't a difference-maker, so why pay him like he is one? PAPPY, pampered? He's played on a 4th rounders salary and earned any bonuses he's received. No way he finishes the season as the starter for us....save this post to refer back to it when reality hits hard!

Oh you didn't hear it? His argument was "he ain't all that". That wasn't good enough for you?Dak being all that and not having a contract means nothing lol
Why doesnt mahomes have a long term contract?
At least make good arguments
Willing to bet that most people that will react to this, won't bother to read the article. All it is, is a negotiating ploy because Dak's camp does not want to sign for 5 years. The time to sign him to a 5 year deal, was before last season. Give him more than his 2019 salary of 2 million and you can probably get away with paying him less than the $35 million APY that he's going to end up getting.
And now, Dallas is trying to make up for this folly, by locking him in at $35 in year 5, and there's no way Dak is going to go for that.
Isn't that how much of these contracts are structured though? With a high last year of the deal?Ehhh not necessarily.
That 4th year at $45MM has a downside for the Cowboys. If he's on the roster, he's basically then guaranteed $45MM. Sure, the Cowboys could cut him if he stinks. But if he's good, there's no incentive for him to then do a restructure. He could basically tell the Cowboys to go crap in a hat and play for $45MM then hold them over the barrel for a huge contract the following year.
And the Cowboys understand this. Dak and his people are just playing hard ball here. They want a 4 year deal so they can cash in again in the 5th year. So in this sense, they are basically making that 5th year the big pay day year for him anyway.
I am not one to agree with the Jones when it comes to how they operate their front office but I think they are right to push back on this. A 5th year at $45MM is Dak giving up zero. There's not a whole lot of difference here for Dak between a 4 year deal or this ridiculous 5 year one with a massive last year payday.
Unless I read it wrong, they want the cap hit to be 45 mil in the 5th year.
asking for somewhere like north of $45 million in that fifth year'
Which doesn't mean much. In 2021 Big Ben and Matt Ryan have cap hits exceeding 40mil
2022 Kirk Cousins cap hit is 45mil
