Yes.

I understand that.

But there is an inverse relationship b/w cost and profit..

The Cowboys are a financial cash register. Money in Mony out..balance the drawer at the end of the day.

If sales are up, increase prices for more profit. If sales are down, you discount and increase sales.

With this illness issue, the NFL product is losing money big time. If games are played, it will probably with half empty stadiums or no fans at all.

So no cash receipts are coming, vendors are closed at the concessions, the teams lose another income stream.

All different parts of the cash register. So owners will have to get that back. I guarantee this.

So when I say prices will increase for tickets it is not tied to the cap directly. But the cost for salaries is born by the team as a cost of doing business.

If those costs continue to increase..use your innate accounting brain and know YOU and I will pay for this. Your cable bill is going to increase to increase revenue. And your cellphone bill will, etc.

This is the undiscussed truth of what is coming.

That is my concern as a paying fan.

Not everybody sees all this as they just watch TV and read their tablets and phones in order to be fans. That's normal.

But thank goodness the cash customers can and will step up regardless if they can.

As I have gotten older, my family has changed how we handle it. My nephew is a ticket broker in Dallas and he brokers our tickets out.

We just go to the lesser games and sell Thanksgiving and late season games for a profit. We will get $500 per seat or $2000 for that game. Same for other sold out games.

We only buy the package at cost. All together with parking, etc is about $1000 a seat. We sell them for twice or more. We go free plus a profit.

Now this has taken years to do.

But when I say Cost..it's a different animal than most here understand.

Done. Understand me?

Savey?

Red I totally get the economics of industry as I minored in economics. I simply refuted your statement that Dak’s contract will raise your ticket prices as they are set by the allotted salary cap.

But what you just stated is absolutely correct in that prices are set on supply and demand. Now with the most likely scenario of less revenue because of less seating, less commissary sales, less parking and less game day merchandise sales, will they look to increase prices? And here is another scenario, will the next salary cap decrease because of the lost revenue or do they take the hit and wait another season to see if the revenue bounces back.

You're about to pay a guy $35 million a year who isn't as good as Dalton.

Dalton would get $7 million if he was starting here.

On the open market, Dak couldn't get anywhere near $35 million. He's not particularly respected by his peers.

Your right, he's not as good as Dalton. He's much better, which I have shown evidence of.

Dalton only gets $7M if he wins the Super Bowl.

As for his peers?

He looks like he is working his rear off and looks fabulous! This really ought to bring out the best in my favorite player Dak Prescott! Watch around the 2:30 minute mark if you get bored easily.. His kids are really cute as they throw him footballs in between his reps..

Sorry but Dak would be lucky to hit 1 of 5 of those target throws.

I was just going to post that dubious little fact.
So you are my long lost brother?

Must be..we are thinking alike, huh?

Mom mentioned you on her deathbed.

She said you were an alcoholic and pot smoker.

I asked her do you know where he lives now..

I wanted to go party with you.

She motioned me closer and started to tell me and she passed before she could say.

Good to meet ya. Still got those glassy blue eyes and that nervous tick in in your mouth from smoking?

My regards to the Mrs. Did you get her Alien Status worked out? What did they say when she told them she was from Uranus and she wanted asylum?

Wish I was a fly on the wall that day.

Just kidding.

Later.

So basically, what your telling me is that if I can get Freeman with an Alicia Key voice over, I can pretty much sell you anything?

Good to know.....

I also have to hear that the company selling the product is " with me" and "that we are all in this together".

Romo was afraid to go play for another team, so he quit. Didn't like keeping the bench warm for Dak neither.

He wasn't afraid. He was offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Seriously, you're Romo hate is just weird. lol

What happened with Cooper before Dak showed up?

I think they energized each other. Cooper was always good but was burning out and wasn't happy there. He came here and loves it. Cooper coming here saved the season for the Cowboys and perhaps saved Dak's Cowboys career. He might be QB1 somewhere else had Cooper not been brought in.

FYI, everyone. there is a way to measure this, instead of taking unsupported claims. It's called DVOA:

The other statistic given is DVOA, or Defense-adjusted Value Over Average. This number represents value, per play, over an average quarterback in the same game situations. The more positive the DVOA rating, the better the player's performance. Negative DVOA represents below-average offense. DVOA (and its cousin, VOA, which isn't adjusted based on opponent) is further explained here.

These stats and analytical comparisons for a team sport is very flawed. That’s why I hate QB’s being judge solely on W/L’s.

Even the author of this new way of statistically evaluating a player states that his analytics is flawed by this statement at the end of the article.....

“Football is a game in which nearly every action requires the work of two or more teammates -- in fact, usually 11 teammates all working in unison. Unfortunately, when it comes to individual player ratings, we are still far from the point at which we can determine the value of a player independent from the performance of his teammates.”

Enough said!

Very well could be true. Hard to say but I do know if this team continued having Beasley and Allen Hurns as their best options they would've been doomed as would've Dak.

I'm far from a Romo hater but I don't know if that gig was once in a life time. That gig seemed to be waiting for him whenever he wanted it. Maybe not on CBS but if he would've went to another network and would've been as good as he was? That CBS gig would've been there waiting for him.

That's why you look at all available data. Now just these stats, but all iterations.

While you are correct that you can never really take an individual contributor from a team sport and offer a truly independent analysis, you can look at the total breadth of available data and make some educated inferences.

Our new coach luckily understands this.

blah blah blah data, you can't compare crap unless both quarterbacks are playing with the same parts.

You are no QB guru...……….THAT is not debatable. :muttley:

Daltons average completion percentage is 62% while Dak averages 67%. Most yards he ever threw for was 4300 yards while Dak threw for 4900 last season.

Any other dumb comments you need me to debunk?

Lol, why you have to turn this personal and what makes you think you're so smart? Andy Dalton simply has a better arm, go watch film. Dak is a better all around QB through his first 4 years, but I'm simply pointing out an area Dalton has an edge when watching film from the pocket. Dak reads the field better and has more of ability to extend plays with his legs. That's why his percentage is better. Dak's arm is acceptable, but isn't a strength of his.
