Like Janet Jackson sang.."What have you done for me lately??" Ooouuu Yeah, Plus he didnt make $35-$40 Mil in 2016.
It was not 3 times lol , the 2nd one in 15 was because they let him come back too soon, and it just re-injured it.The guy broke his left collarbone THREE TIMES, once in 2010 and twice in 2015.
exactlyalso debating if some one is worth a huge historic contract is not hating either.
good post, that is about how I see it.Dak grew on me as the rookie season went out. About midway through is when I started to really see his flaws (which is reasonable for anyone watching a QB). Every QB has them and the fact that people can't even admit to them is a sad story in itself. So with those red flags raised they showed their faces even more in 2017. Sure he technically was getting better in other areas, but the major flaws remained. 2018, same story. 2019, same story. There were also excuses thrown every which way in each of those seasons for Dak. After the Dez situation I called it on the o-line for 2018 and there is no other way to put how god awful Dak was with pocket awareness in 2018. Luckily for us Dak improved in that regard since he was getting worse in that stat every year.
After 4 years I still see a lot of what I saw from his rookie season. Do you want a great leader who struggles with tight passes in coverage, maximizing YAC situations because he cannot consistently put the ball in the right spot, who still can't read a defenders priority on read option plays and doesn't instinctively use his feet to extend plays while looking down field? And too often on 3rd and mid/long he opts for the dumpoff. Don't look at this is all negative, look at this like he does everything else right, or most of it, but these are his flaws that I see.
If you are fine with that, Dak is your guy. I don't care about the yards, I don't care about beating up on bad teams or defenses that play soft. I don't think the flaws I see can be fixed because it might just be a natural/instinctive thing that he doesn't have. Actually I do think there's no reason for him not to be better on read options, but the other critiques I believe he is what he is at this point. I don't believe what he brings is that much or any better than a solid qb you can find in the 1st round of the draft, while also considering the pool of talent surrounding him (sure it's not his fault he has a solid team, but I expect more at this point). So that leads us to our next choice. $35-$40 mil/year vs $6-$7 mil/year? And we do have Dalton on the team so it's not like we're just risking everything.
it doesnt or should not, that is partly why I made this thread. Why does someone not wanting to make him the highest paid player in history equal "hate"?
Talking in text is much harder than say in person, it is much easier to get wrong idea, meaning, or feel insulted etc from text, than it would beWhy are you being so .....defensive and offensive? I was trying to start a discussion and dialogue with you. Now we're gonna get all pissy AND expand and obfuscate the topic.
All I Said was the "top" people get the blame and the credit. Certainly the coach is the usual first one axed. Regardless of the details of how the game goes. QB is the next obvious axe/hero.
(shaking my head at trying to talk on the internet.....very difficult!...when people MAKE it more difficult)
Of course I will put you in whatever group I choose (even though I didn't put you in ANY "group", you just imagined that I did)...your "permission" is unnecessary. The same as YOU do.
You got me confused with someone else. I have never said her should be thankful to play golf or even suggest it. Take your own advice and comprehend what you read first before responding.Okay fine. To suggest "he should be thankful he can almost play golf"....well that hurts your credibility. Not that you need approval from me....but those kind of comments make you look like a hater whether you are or not. And you know how "haters" are thought of around these parts.
The fact remains we just don;t know. We have to recognize these are our FEELINGS on the matter...not FACTS.
Let's get something straight, I don't hate Dak and I'm sure 99.9% of cowboy fans don't hate Dak. What most fans dislike are the way he's attempted to get his when he hasn't done anything. He may of had career numbers last year but he couldn't elevate his game when everything was on the line. When you can't get your act together against double digit ( AAA Eagles & NY Jets) dogs and then finish what was suppose to be a super bowl run season 8 - 8, then Dak needs to fire his agents and come to the table with a request that doesn't reek of greediness...………….
I know the difference between a troll and someone disagreeing...... hence the reason the haven't ignore a ton that I disagree with. Taking each comment under consideration would prove I "see" what people say and even haven't responded to some but haven't put on ignore.Don;t be a coward Irvin88. Be BRAVE!
There's a few "trolls" around sure. But most people just flat out disagree....not trolls at all. Don't be a snowflake. SEE what people say...and allow yourself the freedom and accountability to respond or NOT respond.
Your math is off. In 2015 Romo got injured in week 2 and came back to play week 11........ that's not 5 weeks or even 5 gamesIt was not 3 times lol , the 2nd one in 15 was because they let him come back too soon, and it just re-injured it.
There was no way it was healed after only 5 weeks lol. He should have stayed out the whole season.
The vertebrae in 16 was a freak injury, and again he wanted to come back too soon, and if dak hadnt been winning games,
jones boys would have had him back in there after 3 weeks.
but by end of season , he could have been ok to play, he said he was fine, but he always said that.
The whole falling apart thing is just a myth, it cant be proved true or false, because he never played again except in the last game,
where he looked great for the td drive and perfect pass for a td.
The jones boys wanted dak, because he was dirt cheap, and they felt any decent qb could win with their offense.
And Dak proved them right in 16.
But after that they kept clapper, and his buffoon staff, and things went downhill enough so that it was harder to win with a avg cheap qb.
The ideal thing would have been, since dak was so cheap, keep romo let him start in 17 and dak be bkup and see how it goes,
if tony gets hurt again they have dak to step right in.
I felt agains GB in 16 romo should have started, as he matches up better with GB. after that I dont know.
But that's why Dak was named MVP of the senior bowl because everybody outplayed him including Wentz........Kessler hasn't done crap in the league. Dak and Wentz were the 2 best QBs in the senior bowl and gave proved it with success in the NFLI NEVER thought Dak was the guy. I knew he was benefitting from a very good offensive line and Ezekiel Elliott, but also a very weak schedule.
I said then if he was playing for Cleveland he would be out of the league by the next season.
Jason Garrett, who was desperate for someone who would make him look as if he actually knew what he was doing, latched onto Dak and abandoned Tony Romo.
Romo was done. I felt that he should've retired after 2015. Not because he couldn't play, but I felt that all of the years of futility had mentally caught up with him.
But the Cowboys should have selected Cody Kessler over Dak. In the Senior Bowl, Kessler had outplayed Dak. He had also showed pocket presence under pressure, something Dak doesn't have.
Dak has been a bad choice from the beginning.
Here is a thought, how many people were talking poorly of Dak in 2016 ?????
How many " haters" were posting here?? ( haters = anyone who wants another qb or thinks dak isnt good enough,
or thinks he is good but not worth the money he is demanding.)
None I would guess, this all took the last 3 years to develop and then add in the whole longest contract debate ever, and dak wanting
to be top salary at point of signing, and yeah we have some people that are saying dont sign him.
It is NOT like people have been against dak since day 1.
Same thing for elliot back in 16, but this is years later and both have been meh for last 3 years.
They have good stats, but that has not translated to much season wise or in playoffs the last 3 years.
There are valid reasons for people to think dak is not the right guy, especially now that his pay will
go up what 35 times what he was making?
Again my point is this didnt happen overnight, and didnt really start until late into 2017.
Some slid back in 2018, but then after a 8-8 season and the last phil game , the whole
not liking dak started up in earnest, and then this contract thing has made it snowball.
Your math is off. In 2015 Romo got injured in week 2 and came back to play week 11........ that's not 5 weeks or even 5 games

Excellent Point! The opinions on Dak are so polar opposite that Daks fan base has become enraged when he is accused of being average and they want to justify this with seeing him become the highest paid player at his position thinking they will win their argument. What Daks fan base needs to realize is there is some truth in not believing in Dak. Just give him the football inside the 20 yard line against a half decent defense and watch him. Dak fans need to realize nobody is saying he doesnt deserve to get paid they are arguing that this idea of setting the market or even coming close to setting the market is ridiculous and nothing good will come out of it.Why does someone not wanting to make him the highest paid player in history equal "hate"?
Hey, I'm with you on wanting Romo getting his job back. I think with Zeke and that line anything was possible. I do think the defense would have kept us from any chance of winning it all.An unproven opinion. And you of course have every right to it.
We'd like to think we know what was the best decision but we can't know. How DO we know Rom would of course been injured AGAIN. We don't. It is an opinion. Romo could very well have won a super bowl that year as being injured.
You just don't KNOW, Opinion? fine I am good with that. We sat Romo because of superstition. I am not really good with that .
I have to disagree. Some on here didn't like Dak from the beginning and got ultra salty even Romo was "healthy" and sat on the bench as a backup
