No he won’t. Quit your screaming.

So, you're sticking with what? 33mil for 4 years?
After Mahomes set the market?

He'll ask for it. Guaranteed. He may settle for just over
what the Texans pay Watson.

I don’t know what he’s asking for, but it’s not 40mil per year. Wait and watch.

Wrong Einstein. Unlike you, I know Aikman needed Emmitt just as Dak needs Zeke to help move the chains. But Dak has to carry the entire offense. Zeke fails to show up, and posters whine Dak didn't do more.
Well I dont whine about that, I only blame dak for his many bad decisions, and poorly thrown balls.
Those are 2 things he alone is in control of.

There were some going on about dallas wr had more dropped passes than other teams, and I just watched the GB game thru the chicago game,
and I have only seen about 3 real drops, passes that were thrown good but were not caught.
All the others were behind and or high passes.

two games in a row gallup ran the same crossing pattern, and both times dak threw behind him, and one he caught, and the other he didnt.
But that was bad to me because it shows dak cant throw the ball where he can run to it, he throws at the wr instead of to a spot in front of him.
And this is after 4 years of playing starting qb, which kinda means he will continue to do the same thing.
He threw another pass to gallup which was a 30-40 yd completion, but it was thrown late or too high , because gallup had to stop
and wait for it!
Had it been thrown earlier, or lower, it would have been a td, because gallup had his guy beat by 5 yds. But as it was it just added to
daks stats even though it was a bad pass.

Mahomes deal should have very little affect on Daks contract. Dak is not in the same league as Mahomes and in no way should he even be close to getting that kind of money. Dak hasnt done jack and is on a prove it deal for a reason.

At this point, it's probably cheaper to keep him on the tag.
I bet his agent comes to the table with demands north of 35mil per year.
Next year's tag is 37mil.

Meanwhile the SB MVP Champion just committed to his team for over a decade.

I agree, and it at last puts to bed the argument that contracts should escalate.

Defense, special teams, & coaching matter.

Translation:

The number is already far above your original prediction and you're afraid
to look bad twice on the same contract prediction.

C'mon oldtimer, throw a guess out there... lol

I have not seen ONE post from anyone ( media, fans, NFL people ) suggesting Dak is in the same league as Mahomes yet fans/posters keep throwing it out there. However, that's doesn't mean Mahomes deal can't have an effect on Dak's negotiation via structure or length (years). Hopefully, it at least creates a sense of urgency.....

For the record, if I'm Dak and a min $35M per year is one the table with reasonable guarantees, I'm signing. No way in hell I'm trusting the financial stability of the NFL and/or country next year with everything going regarding the virus......huge risk. Especially if it's over 4-year contract vs 5 years.

For those who continue to say that the Dak "hate" is only from this board or Cowboy fans, go read the comments at the end of the article.

I don't like the word hate when talking about Dak, I think very few on here would describe their feelings for Dak with that word.

This isn't an anti-Dak post, I just thought the comments on the article were telling.

Dak in his senior year, couldn’t beat a ranked team at 9-4. Like his fourth year here, his attempts went up and his rushing attempts dropped to 3.7 YPC.

Against LSU, he scored 13 points in garbage time in the 4th, down 21-6.

Against Texas, they got blown out 30-17, Dak scored on a run in the 4th in garbage time. The other TD was a 50 yard run in the second by a WR.

Alabama, they got blown out 31-6. Dak threw over 40 attempts at a 50% clip.

Ole Miss was up 28-3 going into the second half and blew them out 38-27, Dak threw two TDs in complete garbage time in the 4th and had a 1 yard run in the third. But guess what.. Dak threw at 74%...

Sounds like a familiar trend..

I agree with you... but if it was Dak in that situation, people would be pointing out he didn't put up any points and was down 24-0. My whole point was, while Mahomes rallied his offense... his defense decided to step up and only allowed 7 more points through the rest of the game. Meanwhile, they were getting the ball back so Mahomes and the offense could rally. If the defense continued to lay an egg, that game is never even close. Maybe that's why its called a team sport.
we can all agree dak vs the texans or 49ers would mean an L for us.

Well technically, July 15th is the cut off date (unless they changed it in the CBA). If Dak doesn't sign an extension then, they can't sign a long term contract until after the season. So if something is going to get done, it has to happen in the next week.

Why would it be poetic justice, considering Mahomes won a SB and is actually one of the best, if not best, and definitely most talented QB in the league and brought them back in every game in the playoffs last year and Dak is simply a 4th round QB, surrounded by elite blocking and a great RG and some of the fastest WRs in the game.

Shouldn’t you be on a Chiefs forum , Chris Jones won that SB.
