Danny is a lot like of the kids on this site arguing nonsense with dishonest intentions.

Dak's actual playoff numbers since 2017:
2 games, 4 TDs. 1 TO.

But I'm sure if you have ESPN stat interns you can find that he was pretty bad in the 1st quarter of night games on thursdays if you try realllllyyyyy hard.
Yeah I would love to see Dak’s playoff stats compared to Wince.

I would say, as far as regular seasons go, last years' Cowboys team was the worst underachieving group that we've had in at least 20 years.
Going 8-8 with that team and that schedule was really awful

I would say runner-ups were the 9-7 teams from 2008 and 2017, but they both had more injury and suspension excuses..

It used to be "against winning teams". So let's move it to "ten win teams" to make it worse. Got it.

There are some good HC in the group of .400 and below, most don't get it done with out a good QB or a top D.

Which ones do you like that have done worse than Garrett where there's a comparable sample size to work with?

But........before we turn this into a Dak bashing, notice Garrett's record against winning teams below.

The idea here is to the issue of Dak NOT doing well against winning and/or playoff teams is more than how well he's played. This is a stigma of Garrett coached games dating back to Romo also. In other words, coaching matters.

Defining what’s a big game is subjective, but for the purposes of this piece, beating teams with a winning record would be a good place to start. Upon examination, Garrett is not passing the test.

Using Pro Football Reference’s Team Finder to suss out each active head coach’s record against winning teams at season’s end in either the regular season or playoffs reveals a cold, hard fact. Against good teams, Garrett has been mediocre at best.

Here’s a list of all active coaches with at least one year of experience through the end of the last complete season, 2018.

Team Coach Years Active Record vs
Winning Teams Win %
New England Patriots Bill Belichick 2000-2019 107-63 0.629
Los Angeles Rams Sean McVay 2017-2019 14-10 0.583
Chicago Bears Matt Nagy 2018-2019 5-4 0.556
Indianapolis Colts Frank Reich 2018-2019 6-5 0.545
Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin 2007-2019 51-46 0.526
Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll 2010-2019 38-38 0.500
Philadelphia Eagles Doug Pederson 2016-2019 16-17 0.485

See here is where I get a little irritated. People blame everything on Dak. But then forget the coaching. But when he was almost at a 50 percent winning percentage against winning teams prior to last season. It was everyone but Dak. I’ve noticed that against good teams Dak has gotten a little bit worse every season. I attribute that completely to Garrett. Everyone seems to regress on his teams. Zeke was allowed to get fat no accountability etc. I think the new coaching is going to show this team for what it really is. Good or bad. I also know MM will get the best out of Dak. And actually scheme against the other team and tailor the offense around Dak. Not tailoring Dak around the offense like Garrett tried to. Man was the king of putting square pegs in round holes.

That’s where the problem lies. If he had so many things against him how can he be judge fairly? People want to use stats to justify him getting paid but then when other stats are brought up, it’s because of other situations. So how do you justify paying a QB with bad coaches (which really effects the whole team), an 8-8 record, and supposedly bad team all around him? You can’t. Not fairly. So that’s the reason the Joneses are not ready to pay him the kind of money Dak loyalists and Dak himself thinks he deserves.

Yep. Essentially the Cowboys went into every game fighting with one arm behind their back. Which explains why they could beat the teams with bad personnel but lost to better coaching.
At least I feel better about our chances in closer games where coaching matters. MM doesn’t seem conservative like JG.

Yeah I don't mind losing if I know we did all we could. Garrett just felt like he didn't leave it all out there at times. Did a better job his last year here but still not good enough.

Only reason it looked improved was because JJ disagrees with him for playing conservative in that game he didn’t go for it on that 4th down play and we lost. After that he was going for it all the time. Lol.

The consensus here has been that Garrett and staff got outcoached on a regular basis yet some have selective memory when it comes to players they like less than others.

This team has wasted talent for years due to subpar coaching. Let's hope McCarthy is a step in the right direction (but don't forget who keeps doing the hiring).

Out coached in the playoffs no matter who the QB was.

Or how good the Cowboys teams were.

Killing teams with the running game during the entire season and what happens in the playoffs? "Let's come out slinging! They'll never see it coming!"

Should have stated "Garrett's Cowboys". It's now "McCarthy's Cowboys" and not a single mediot has any ground to stand on yet to make any claims. Nobody knows how this team is going to play. It just gets so tiring and dishonest for the mediots to ignore the depature of Jason Garrett. It's about losing Quinn, Collins, losing to Philly in week 17 last year and Daks contract. That's all they talk about because there's no money in saying "Well...we don't know what this team will look like next year".

Lol. Yep or like 1st and goal from the 3 yard line and throw it 3 straight times. They will never expect this. Gonna totally fool them..

Another great one is how easily they allowed defenses to dictate what they did with the "take what the defense gives you" nonsense.

Have I said recently how truly overjoyed I am that the band of idiots is gone?

It got so discouraging to watch us stop a team on 1st and 2nd and only to watch them pick up a 3rd and 12 with ease.

You know what in the end it's the waterboys fault why the last 3 years our offense stinks against good defenses.
Everyone in Dak-Land happy now????
