They didn't screw up. They actually made the smart decision for once considering the likelihood a season doesn't even happen in the first place!

Your reference above is to me.

Right let me spell it out.

Myles Garrett is perhaps the elite pass rusher going forward given his production as a young player. He just signed a contract paying $25 million a year over 5 years. He is pretty much as good as it gets for the position in relation to age going forward as a pass rusher.

Ngakoue is a very good pass rusher but a notch below Garrett hence why he reportedly wants $22 million a year.

If we rate Prescott in the Tannehill level that's $29 million a year. Goff $33 million a year. Say he's in between the two or even slightly above then you are looking at up to $35 million a year.

So in short, quarterback is the most important position in the team as shown by being paid the most money of any position. I.e an average/slightly above average QB is worth more than a good/very good pass rusher. I'm just spelling that out to be as condescending to you as you were to me.

Prescott is an upgrade over Minshew. Very few people would dispute that and the Jaguars would view it the same way. People claim they will tank for Lawrence but I don't think teams intentionally start a season thinking we will lose all 16 games.

So they would get an upgrade at quarterback whilst giving up a good/very good pass rusher who wants out from the Jaguars and like Prescott is playing on the tag.

What is so outrageous in the Jaguars receiving Prescott and the Cowboys receiving Ngakoue and say a third rounder?
You guys told me you can’t with Dak at 35 million but the Jags can? By giving away their best player? It just makes no sense.

I'm not claiming the Jags can win with Prescott.

I'm claiming that he's an upgrade over Minshew and the Jags and Cowboys would be keen to get something for Ngakoue and Prescott respectively.

First season to judge Darnold in reality. Mission impossible the prior two years. No oline and awful receivers.

The Bills love Allen and rightly so. Hilarious how reporters etc throw their name into the hat for Prescott. They would have ABSOLUTELY no interest in him!

I have a feeling the Colts will be interested in Rodgers with Eason sitting behind.

Bucs and Saints will be looking for a QB that win the occasional shoot out.

Bears, Jaguars and Panthers the best looking fits for Prescott in terms of style of offense and likely need.
If Bridgewater is good enough for Payton I think Dak is fine. I’d love to see Dak with a real coach.

I mean you are claiming that the Jags would trade for him because they think they can win with him correct?

No I'm claiming that they would trade for him because they would improve at the QB position.

If they don't trade him then he might hold out next season and it could just get very messy.

I'm not claiming the Jags will accept the proposal but rather than eventually just getting a compensatory 3rd round pick for Prescott we could get more.

Jerry and Stephen will not entertain more offers for Prescott after what just went down.

Rarely do you get a QB the caliber of Dak Prescott in the 4th round and enjoy the fruits of a 4th round picks salary for 4 years. Dak sacrificed his body and soul diligently working on his game to improve all the while dealing with an incompetent coaching staff. And this is what Jerry and crew have done. It’s embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan right now. The organization sucks. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am.
They can't handle getting a total steal in the draft. They have to destroy that incredible advantage.

In 2011 they draft a RB in the 3rd round who plays behind an offensive line of free agents and rookies and averaged 5.5 yards a carry. In 2012 the RB played behind an offensive line composed of 5 starters that never played their position in the NFL. In 2013 he made the Pro Bowl and rushed for over 1100 yards with 53 receptions for 350 yards. In 2014 He was a 1st team All Pro while breaking the Cowboy record for most rushing yards in a single season with 1845 yards. He also had 57 receptions for 416 yards giving him 2261 yards from scrimmage.

In 2015, that combination of familiarity and cohesion between a RB and great O-line was gone. Jerry decided to lowball DeMarco Murray on his contract and didn't make a real offer until it was too late and the damage had already been done. this was another guy with great character and leadership, a guy who gave everything he had on the field and you never heard anything about him that wasn't related to being on the field.

Priority must be given to those who spent some of their first contract years on suspension, injury lists and police blotters.

Huh? So this gets even more interesting. So not only would they invest 100 million into Dak.....but they would trade Ngakuoe for him with no intentions of him helping him win? Even though you guys told me you need a quarterback on a rookie deal in order to win in this league? I feel like im in the Matrix............

I always liked Demarco and agree it was a shame that they didn't resign him

If a player improves a position within a team then that in itself gives them a better chance of winning games. Especially at QB. Jags have some nice pieces but Minshew isn't even a top 20 QB in the league.

Minshew was a rookie last year lol. A bit unfair to expect him to come right in and play well especially there. I know he looks 40 but he was a rookie.

The team gave him a offer that overpaid him like the rest of the qbs getting deals. I been behind Dak since before the SR bowl but this team offered him a good deal. He picked a agent who kept upping the price every time they talked. I could see Dak traded next yr. You dont bite Jerrys hand. The team was trying to pay him and keep enough money available to keep the team together. If Dak was smart he would've taken a longer deal with ability to add more guaranteed money down the line. And at the same time allow the team to keep players in place for him. Its all about money for him, i see that now. Ill never minimize what he does on the field, but im not a fan of the person he's turned into. He deserves to be paid, and the team wanted to do that, but he and his agent wanted to double dip in the cookie jar.

Dak fans are still borrowing the Romo reality.

I guess Romo getting benched for a Check-Down QB, while taking a pounding for years by an incompetent coaching staff that couldn’t stop a blitz nor establish a RG and he finally had all the pieces was fair... and Dak having an all-pro OL that gave Dak more time than any QB in the league finally built and an all world back that create so many favorable match-ups for the Dallas offense on the outside to go alongside it for Romo is “bleeding for this organization”..

So which game holds more weight...when both teams were more healthy and the Eagles got drilled b almost 30 or the one they lost by 8 when Dak had a bad throwing hand and shoulder? We will go with which everyone you think.
Are you serious???? The AAA Eagles had 10 or 11 starters out of the second game and Dak's shoulders were to small to carry the team. I could careless about his so called injuries. I'm sure if you asked him if injuries played into his ability to lead the team that day, his response would be" hell no"!. JJ had a very fair deal on the table and Dak's agents made a big mistake by not signing it. Everyone is on JJ's *** over this and to be honest, JJ has bent over backwards to get key players signed to long term contracts. Dak has it made playing on this team, look at his running backs, offensive line, wide receivers and TEs. Dam JJ grandson could probably take this team to the playoffs. Nope JJ did his part and Dak let greed get the best of him.......
