Would the Patriots have given Dak the deal he wants?

can you share what you’re smoking ? I soooooo wish they had put the non exclusive tag on Dak. So you think there were 10 other GM s willing to give up two 1st rounders for him ? Keep smoking.

Why would they give up two first rounders? That is not the standard you set. You asked who would be willing to offer the kind of money he wants. I am saying at least 10 will. If the Cowboys tag him a 2nd year he could wait until the 3rd year and just walk for nothing. As every team knows that after next year he is a free agent, they could simply wait it out next year.

You can switch, just about any player, and ask that question. Making it exclusive to Dak is silly.

No.

They wouldn't have.

Brady always played on a team friendly deal and he's won 17 Superbowls.

Oh, and yes, I'm aware we are not the Patriots and not anything close to them.

Maybe this is the step towards the Patriot way. Still have a long ways to go, but at least it's a step.

First off Brady nor the patriots have won 17 Super Bowls. Second Belicheat has been with the patriots for 20 years and he, Brady and the rest of the team won 6 Super Bowls out of 9 tries. Next Brady took team friendly contract after marring one of the highest paid models in the world with a net worth of over $400 million or almost four times more than Brady. Another reason for smaller contracts is Belicheat's way of releasing players earlier than later which adds more dead money on their cap and less cap space to work with. Because they continued to win players took smaller contracts to keep it going, but they had to get there first.

Apples and oranges.

Brady never asked to be the highest paid player (or QB) in the league BEFORE he won a Super Bowl like Dak did.

That is nothing but unsubstantiated speculation by those that were never a part of the negotiations. Prescott even said publicly he doesn't deserve more than Wilson without a Super Bowl win. You're just trying and failing to push the Prescott hatred again.

How many championships has that lead to in his 4 seasons? I'm not even going to consider the regular season pissing contest.
lol, go die in a hole.

One side of the whine bunch cries w-l records aren't a qb stat the other side cries only championships matter.

The impressive thing about this stat is Dak is likely going to be the ONLY player with a 5000 yard passing season and 300 yards per year rushing avg after this season.
And if the rest of the team upholds their end they will win a lot of games.

I will be polite and not say anything that can get me banned. For some reason its never the initial asshat comment that gets someone in trouble, its the person who retaliates who takes the brunt of the punishment.

Dak got paid 2 million last year on his rookie deal. And your telling me that comparing that to Dalton's 3 million this year is stupid trolling?

I dont mind arguing...…...but these overzealous, drunken idiot rants are getting tiring.
I am not talking about LAST years contract. Andy wasn't even on the team last year...how can we compare last years contracts?

....geeze you drunk?

No definite to that. Warner sat out 1998, then was a complete stud for 3 years, winning a super bowl in 99 and losing another in 00. You're right, it's not close, Warner was much better.

Warner had given up football and was bagging groceries before he blossomed.

Just goes to show you how under valued scouting depts league wide still exist today.
One of the biggest mysteries to me personally has always been, why billionaire owners in this league do not allocate big money into recourses that can elevate and play a significant advantage in areas of the team that do not count against the cap?
Makes you wonder if its truly just a visual up front game for the masses, much like gladiator,, just pay what you have to to give the masses a show.

Not fair, he was stocking shelves, the next step up from bagging groceries and only did that in times of emergency. Had he not gotten back into football, he was probably in line for Produce Manager.
