yea thats true he could be looking for an enormous deal after some tv contracts are adjusted or whatever.

or he could be looking to use his leverage to get out of here. Maybe he would like to follow Witten to Las Vegas and play for Jon Gruden?

guess we will find out.

We most certainly will. It’s hard to know for sure. I think it is pretty clear he wants to be paid as much as possible. Cowboys or no cowboys. But no sense in us all arguing that fight in this thread.

I say #4 is mostly bogus. For several reasons.

It came from Broaddus and JTT. Sometimes not always the most reliable sources.
Other articles saying from a former coach. So now it is supposedly coming from someone still in the organization, or it seemed that way. And how would they know what went on during negotiations.

By that, was there any face to face negotiations, or all on video conference, if at all. Because we been led to believe there was rarely any negotiations.
So how could this person know what Dak's demeanor was. I call BS.
And if this source did have any inside info, could Dak's demeanor have been after he lost his brother.

I agree, I like Broaddus but he is basically clickbaiting with "well, one guy said Dak wasn't that worked up about the negotiations so he must want out".

Dak wasn't that worked up because he already had a contract paying 30 Million for next year, plus he has already made tens of millions from endorsements. He had an insurance policy in place years ago that protects him from injuries, so years ago he had enough money in the bank or on the books that he is worth more than everyone in the town he grew up in put together. If people haven't figure out Dak is a level headed guy who isn't focused on money or ego, they haven't been paying attention.

But the truth is, the source mentioned, that Garrett really wasn't that close to the players. His personality (fake) doesn't allow him to get close to people. He's a friendly guy who you can hang out with and throw the ball with after practice and all of that fun stuff, but the reality is Garrett has hundreds and hundreds of acquaintances and very, very few close friends.

Unpopular dumb kid passes note in class about unpopular smart kid.

Whether or not Dak actually wants to remain with the Cowboys doesn't mean the team can't or won't be successful in the future. If he's retained, whether it be by tag or a new contract, he'd be well-advised to put his best foot forward. That holds true for as long as he's dutifully employed by the 'Boys.

In regards to that, even if he eventually leaves, there will probably be at least 2 years to find a develop another QB moving forward. There's hope, with or without him. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like him to stay but it wouldn't be the end of the world if he left. There would surely be alternatives.

In addition, I've said this many times -- I think Todd France has had far too much influence on him than what's in his best interest. I'm extremely hopeful he'll decide to eventually dismiss him. I strongly suspect he'd be doing himself a big favor if he did.
Dak’s future is up in the air. Lots of things will effect his future as a cowboy
But no player on the team has a bigger motivation to play good this year than he does. And that’s a good thing. I wanted to wait late year before signing him and that turned out to be a mistake. I wanted him signed this year but it didn’t happen. Some blame Dak, some his agent and some blame jerry. I don’t have the information to know who’s fault it is or if it’s anyone’s fault. But if any player has a reason to be motivated it’s Dak and that can only help the team this year
The future is the future but there will be a whole different landscape next season and I don’t think anyone knows what it’s gonna look like.

As a Dak guy, I gotta point out that Han Solo ultimately made the right choice!

Here’s to hoping Dak does too.
Probably and unfortunately too late for that.
Regardless what Dak does now in regards to contract with the Cowboys, he already lost at least 50 percent support from this fan base, if this forum is any indicator of random fan poll.
Thats not good business when you are betting on yourself, and you havent won anything to support your claim.
Dak betting on himself is the hard bet now that only pays off if he succeeds.
I give the man respect for believing in himself.

France works at the direction of Dak Prescott who is paying him because he hired him.
That's not how it works with CAA. They represent people vastly more significant and valuable than sports figures like Dak Prescott, and you sign on to basically let them call the shots. Otherwise, they won't take you on as a client.

CAA has Tom Cruise, The Rock, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Scarlett Johanssen, Robert Downey Jr., Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Gosling......

Dak is no big deal in their world. They don't negotiate. They dictate.

Your brother passing away in the middle of the offseason with the virus ramping up. Dak should be all smiles and giggles when it comes to negotiations. My prayers are with you young man.

If true, the real question is why would any QB not want to be the starting QB for "America's Team"? Easily the most historically prestigious job in the game. There have been questions about the organization going all the way to the front office for over 2 decades and this (if true) makes me wonder if Dak has similar questions. Is ours a winning culture? Is the current model of the Jones family managing the team in all aspects a failed project? Any other team would surely have fired their GM a long time ago.

I watched the Cowboys All or Nothing and was left terribly disappointed with what I could see of the team's (players & coaches) attitudes and the overall atmosphere; they seemed very lackluster and uninspired compared to some of the others. And most recently watching Jaylon Smith on the NFL Game Pass Film Session (I think it's called) I couldn't help but to think about a report that came out saying these guys are buying into their own stardom or celebrity. I like Jay and really pull for him given his story, but I didn't enjoy watching him wearing shades indoors and sounding less then studious.

Are these legit concerns? Maybe or maybe not. Just my observations.

Nothing will stop me from rooting for the Cowboys because it is innate to me at this point. I love the Cowboys and that will never change.

Dak not wanting to be a Cowboy is all PR rubbish. His agency knows that its now unlikely he'll be retained beyond this season, so they are putting it about that he wants to leave. This puts them in a win win situation from a PR perspective. If he stays, they say he finally got the offer he deserved. If he goes, they'll say the Cowboys knew he wanted to leave and so didnt pursue him seriously.

The reality is that when MM was hired, a decision was made to use the tag and not offer a long term deal. Everything else in the media is Daks PR team trying to put pressure on the team. There is no chance a deal wouldnt be done if the difference was 3-4m per year and 4 or 5 years - these differences are too close to scupper a deal between two willing parties.

Dak is going to find most of the Cowboys fanbase could care less at his current asking Price. Hes not a top 5 qb period... If he wants to be paid like the number two QB in the league then he needs to elevate his game like Rogers or Wilson and win a ring. Why pay a qb more money than any other QB in the league when you are still going home early every playoffs? Dak folded like a cheap suit when Wentz beat him with the practice squad team.

Dak doesn't get the endorsement dollars if he leaves Dallas. In fact, he becomes a non-story outside Dallas. Signing any contract for another team would cost him money.
