For some reason that made me want to play Super Punch-Out!!.

Take down Bald Bull...

One of my all-time favorite games. When I bought a Nintendo Switch one of the first things I did was run to their classic vault and see if they had that game. They did! I was more so hoping for Mike Tyson's Punch Out but it was only the regular Punch Out, which really, is the same thing sans Tyson. Still, it was nostalgic to play again and it is still tough to this day.

Call me a hater but...

Nothing can beat the first Halo. I stopped playing video games after concurring the first Halo. Because I knew it would be forever unbeatable.

Avengers looks tight, day 1 purchase after seeing how much depth has gone into it looking at the beta. RPG Marvel and liking the direction.

Really an untapped market in video games, how are they not cleaning up on super heros in the one realm you can be one? Kids pay all that money on MUT packs and 2k for star players, how much you think I would pay for a Wolverine character, etc.?

Gamefly finally shipping me the latest Need For Speed game. NFS Heat. I'll see how that is. They had some fantastic games in the early to late 00s and then they just kind of lost their charm. The last one, Payback, actually wasn't TOO bad. I've always enjoyed a good racing game so I will stay hopeful!

So, update!! If anybody enjoys racing games and cares:

I'm enjoying this game. More than I anticipated. Had to give it a chance though, because at first, it almost got ejected and sent back. You get a choice of about 4 cars to start out with. I chose one I figured I'd like and off we went. The driving dynamics were horrible and to the point it was almost frustrating. So, I looked it up and read many comments about just pushing through it and it gets better........and it did. Once I got some money built up and could mod/adjust the car, it became more pleasant to drive. Then, I finally had enough for an entirely new vehicle, and it felt like it opened the entire game up. The map is fantastic. Amazing these open-world maps they create anymore. You can choose between day and night, and each have their benefits from racing. Day races are all "legal" and closed off sanctioned racing. Night races are illegal and on the open road with traffic and police presence. I feel like the night time graphics pop a little more and it definitely gives you a more throwback feel to the old NFS games.

If I had a few gripes about the game, so far, it would be the drifting and the police. I'm just not into drift racing and it gets old that these race games feel they need to cram it down your throat. I get some people may love it but it's not for all of us. Just give me an open road/track and let's do some classic racing. As for the police, I don't mind a chase every now and again, but it feels like every night time race the cops show up. It gets a little long in the tooth having to outrun the cops every time. Now, I have noticed with progression you can add upgrades to help deter the police, so maybe that will help, but as of now I find myself leaning toward day racing as I don't feel like a cop chase after every one. We will see if that gets better.

At any rate, I've been really enjoying it and I think NFS is heading back in the right direction that made them great to begin with.

A little off-topic but ..Years ago I owned several racing games (including NFS) so I bought a Logitech steering, shifting and pedal system. I got my dad to build me a mount for it and was excited to finally play using it.

What I found was that it was really boring for some reason. I remember back when I was a kid playing arcade games that had steering wheels and thinking how cool they were. When I finally got a chance to do that as an adult, I realized it was too much like driving in the real world.

To be clear, I still like racing games but I enjoy them a lot more with a controller or a keyboard/mouse than I do a steering system.

Now, if I had a full body simulator that would lean with peripheral vision screens, a motion/vibration capable chair, feedback on the steering wheel, shifiter and pedals, I would likely enjoy that :D

I might have to check this out. I used to be really into racing games but haven't played any in a few years. One of the Gran Turismo or Forza games was probably the last one I played. I enjoyed the NFS games years ago but they were more arcade-style. Is the new one that way or are they trying to be more realistic with the car physics?

I had a brief, very brief, time in my life when I had a steering wheel. I think it was with one of the Gran Turismo games. It was definitely hard to get used to, but like you, for some reason I just preferred using the controller.

It's definitely an arcade-style game.

Oh, I did forgot to mention one more negative about the game. The soundtrack. It sucks. I have no idea who created the playlist for that game but they should be replaced immediately. That was another great side of the NFS games back in the day is they had solid soundtracks. This one? Not even close. Obviously this is a subjective topic, but for somebody who loves a vast amount of music across all genres, I'm just not feeling it.

Music can really kill a game. I worked on a game a few years ago and we had a "sound designer" who made original tracks for the game. We all hated them but couldn't convince the people in charge to change it. The game was released and the first review described the soundtrack as "heavy metal vomit". I got a good chuckle out of that. I actually like old school metal too!
