I called it when Panthers fans were wanting him and I said he isn't good enough to be drafted that high. Didn't think McCaffrey would be as great as he has been so I guess 1 for 1 on that Haha
Unless I read that wrong, which is entirely possible, you’re 1 for 2.

Pretty clear the guy is a low character type. What a mess Jacksonville has become. To think a couple years ago they looked like they could challenge for a SB.

yeah they fell off a high cliff very fast. No guard rail was going to stop that.
Just when it seemed they got it right, it went away what seems in an instant.

I never thought McCaffrey would be this. I thought he'd be good, but I thought he'd get smushed into porridge in the process.

Fournette didn't translate for me. Too much like Darren McFadden.

That little fart from LSU that just got drafted is going to be really good though.

They had some really bad guys on that roster. Stars too. What a waste.

Fournette was released by the Jaguars. I know there will be no interest. But have not seen it posted yet.
Not sure why they released him, have not listened to it all, or read anything.
just seen it on a sports alert.

Says his rookie contract is guaranteed. Are they just eating his 5mil base salary this year, or are they claiming some "conduct detrimental" out?

It's scary that with no guaranteed money left on his deal (they were voided after he had a fight with Shaq Lawson during a game with the Bills, on top of a driving without a license offense) that no one would trade for him. Yes, Fournette has a chronic ankle problem, but he can play.

Thanks. I was wondering why they'd cut a guy with a guaranteed contract. Not guaranteed anymore. Ok. You get out of 5mil if you can.

He had 1674 yards from scrimmage last season on 4.9 yards per touch.

For comparison, Zeke had 1777 yards on 5.0 yards per touch.

They had almost identical seasons. One is a "bust." One is a top 3 running back. LMAO

I was referring more to them not picking up his fifth year option and then abruptly cutting him before his 4th season began. I wouldn't consider that a successful draft pick at #4.

It's the lack of respect for the running back position these days (which I absolutely hate) and the chance to get him cheap later if needed.

Also, remember that most every team has a good running back. They're not that hard to find.
I don't know. Jordan Howard just got the same kind of money Fournette was making from Miami for a lot less production last year. Matt Breida wasn't far behind. Kenyon Drake just got a 1 year deal for twice what someone could get Fournette for 2 years, and again, he had less production. Tevin Coleman, Geovani Bernard, Duke Johnson … all making as much or more without even as much production.

I think its rare teams tank in the NFL. There's so much parity there really is no reason to but when you are desperate for a quarterback I guess that's when it come to fruition and the Jags are desperate it seems.
This QB you say they want? Ummm.....jeeze.....a good kid and good player...but NFL team savior? Shouldn't we be cautious of high draft QB's. Almost worse record than RB's. In fact...yes. Worse.

if u run a nfl team just dont draft a rb any where near the top 10 especially not top 5 and never sign a rb to a second contract and u will be way better in the long run. no offence to zeke but it is a dumb thing to do 99.99% of the time.

fournette has alot of mileage on those legs. Think about that too. He has injury issues to worry about too. He may be a complimentary guy, but not a starter at this point. They ran him to death at LSU, had 1 great year at Jville, and he looks done. Now I do find him intriguing as a 3rd rb . I just don't think he fits here. I like the younger cheaper potential of Rico Dowdle or Anderson. I think he will likely wanna start somewhere and unless a team gets decimated at the position, it aint happening.Seattle MAYBEa fit, but its a reach. They dont really have anyone as a set RB.

It’s pretty obvious that the guy was a pain in the ***. Not a busy by any means but definitely not worth the headache to the Jags.

I hear the injury thing
I also get if a team worries about him messing with chemistry

but his stats were extremely similar to Zeke’s last year
About 1770 vs about 1670, but one less game. So almost identical
and 5.0 to 4.9 yards per touch as well

Dude is not a time share guy just yet

Why would he need to lie.

Nobody wants that contract, that health risk, and that attitude at that price.
He's lying. One minute no one would trade for him but the next minute he's trying to trade him until 4 today....someone is lying.

Aye you're preaching tot he choir. I think its moronic. It makes no sense. You destroy your team and "Tank" for said player and then expect a rookie to come in and save your franchise in 4 or 5 years......by the time he develops its time to give him 40 million a year and you've totally botched the rebuild.

Confusing to me too. 1152 rushing yards and 522 receiving yards last year, and still has 2 years left on his rookie contract (1 being a team option year). Why would a team cut a guy like that, and why wouldn't another team be interested in trading at least something reasonable for him? Is there a problem that I missed?

The Jags didn't pick up his option this off season, so I don't think another team can do so at this time if they sign him.

He really wasn't used that much while at LSU. He had 616 rushing attempts in college. That isn't that much. Doesn't even crack the top 250 for rushing attempts for a career. He had one season with 300 rushing attempts, which is not a tremendous amount for a single season. The other 2 college seasons he ran the ball less than 200 times those years. He may be done, but I don't think LSU ran him to death.
