Surprise cut predictions

$10 million over two years makes more sense than $9.1 million for one.

But you know me, prior to McCoy's injury, I was pulling that band-aid off completely.

they "probably" were as well.
new staff with no ties to TC.
he was basically an insurance policy they've had to cash.
probably a better option than say the Eagles now have to renegotiate with the old LT or find a new LT.

Even with a healthy McCoy and better Gallimore, I still think he makes the team. He's a swiss army knife on the dline and can get a consistent push from all positions even if he doesn't finish with sacks. I also know they consider him a 'face' and leader in the locker room. Go to The Star you will see his face everywhere on the walls, in advertising, etc. Those types of guys don't get cut easily in Dallas.

And go to the actual productivity numbers and you'll see that the team has been wrong about him for years.

Im not sure there will be any surprises. The top rookies all seem to be doing well in camp... I am not surprised when a 4-7 round pick is cut. We could have seen one of Crawford or Hill cut but with the injury to McCoy, they are both safe. I would like to see Chris Jones cut but I don't think they even have another punter in camp, so that is doubtful.

But I will give ya a name: Jordan Lewis - I think they keep some of the younger CB to be the 5 CB and let him walk.

Dontari Poe because of his stance on something we cant discuss and calling out Jones. With the emergence of hill this is a possibility i think

Hill and Poe play different positions.
AWoods plays behind Poe and was a very late signing and to 1 year.
Poe is safe unless he gets hurt or something.

Given what's happened, it's looking somewhat smarter that they didn't.

But I will still contend that they had every opportunity to lower that salary and keep him if they wanted to, and like last year, they passed up the opportunity to recoup millions of cap dollars that they will be crying about not having next year.

Jourdan Lewis would be traded not cut.
He can be a back up nickel CB for any team in the NFL at peanuts in cap cost.

Dancing around any specifics for obvious reasons, but JJs most recent statements would make this assumption wrong.

He probably would of still made the team assuming a pay cut since he would have been forced into a smaller role. If McCoy had stayed healthy they might of spread Crawfords cap hit over a 2 year deal which would of been more reasonable

I'd say to look at Crawford this way....

Probably not, and we aren't talking about a few hundred grand to push into next year's cap mess....its 8 million.

Gonna wish we had that around here come Feb.

My top 3. Crawford would save us some cash to carry over into next years cap. Dix may not win the starting job and may be replaced by Thomas or a current roster player. Lee, as much as I love his passion and knowledge for the game; may be pushed out by the two younger and impressive rookies from Texas Tech.

Clinton-Dix. He's always been average, and so far in camp he's looked really bad. Wish we'd throw a one year deal at Eric Reid or Reshad Jones.

Maybe they have and those guys aren't interested in a 1 year deal …

My guess would be they have not, but we really don't know what the team has done or who they have approached.

I am not sure everyone understands what "Surprise cut" means. it's not one that people think will happen or want to happen. It is a move that would make people go "wow, what is up with that". I said Jordan Lewis just for that reason. I don't think he will be cut but if he was, i would be like "wow, that is shock".

I could see it but it would still be a surprise. I know posters love this guy but he hasn't been able to get on the field all that much. So if they decide to keep a younger DB that is more in the mold they are looking for, I could see him being cut and or traded.
