You guys always manage to bring up Andy Dalton's name and talking about what he can do yet no one in the league thought that and he signed to be a backup for 2 million.
I'm not claiming that he's Dan Marino at this stage in his career but he's a solid QB. Tannehill signed for the Titans for what an initial $7-8 million. We got an absolute bargain with Dalton and home town discount was a factor too. Unrelated to Prescott but I would love Dalton to just play a few games next season just to come in and show that he's a good QB.

There's incredibly similar players, but in entirely different systems.

The point about Elliott is that Green Bay's rushing options were some fat waste of space more interested in eating pizzi's than running or James Starks who was like a role player every now and again and not a pure ground and pound runner. The Raiders had a 400 year old Marshawn Lynch in 2017. You know the point i'm making that having a very strong running game makes life much easier for the receivers.
and the quarterback for that matter.

Not outrageous
Im a believer in qb rating. Dak career 97. Jimmy 100.0
Jimmy took a team to a SB. Dak hasnt gotten to the conference game
Its close at this point. But I wouldnt be at all surprised if Dak was much better in 2020 than him. We shall see.

Now the Dak slobbers will hone in on only certain words in my comment and get mad, when in fact I made a balanced comment.

Ya had nothing to do with the 49ers having the #2 ranked defense including DVOA. Dak is more durable, can run and is just flat out better than Jimmy. He almost doubled Jimmy`s numbers last year!

Its tough to be the best player on your team at the position Zach plays. I know it sounds cool to say because he's one of the best players at his position but I can't say he was the best. He'd probably come after Cooper, Gallup, Dak and Zeke for me. Now the Colts can say Nelson was probably their best player.

Zach is the best at his position, but not the most valuable because of position value. I'd put him after Dak, Cooper, and maybe Tyron.

I think the boomers don't like them because they aren't the typical drop back passers.

This is some of the best young quarterback talent I've seen in a long time. There was a time when Carson Palmer and Donovan McNabb were considered the best quarterbacks in the league. Vick as well. Lamar is what we thought Vick's ceiling was.
what the heck with the ageist crap generation Z? Youre the people who think just because a qb can run a little that they are such great athletes and therefore better.
Lamar is 0-2 in the playoffs. Its still football sonny.

Dak had as much to do with their success as the other way around. same with any QB, WR combo. and Dak was handicapped by a simple scheme, predictable play calling and questionable head coach. the question is what could he have done if Sean Payton was his coach, or Bilicheck? what would brees and brady have done if garrett was their head coach?

Yes...that is why I made it a point of saying "dak's success". And I generally don;t deal too much in "what ifs". Dealing with one universe is hard enough for me.....infinite universes? Umm.....not good for me. :p

Lets look at a couople of things. Yes the 49ers got to the conference championship and Super Bowl but what did Garoppolo do. In the conference championship game he had ZERO TD's, in fact he only threw 9 passes all game.and ran 4 times for a -1 yards. In the Super Bowl he had 1 TD but 2 picks. Lastly Garappolo didn't have Garret as coach.

Now Aikman has always been harder on the Cowboys as he says so he won't be perceived as a homer but Rice is obviously being a homer.
.
.

Aikman becomes annoying in his efforts to not be a "homer".

its a coin toss both pretty close in what they bring to their perspective teams and both in tier two..dont really care at this point but last year SF was a better team and made the sb..

The only stats that matter is who got to the sb and who lost to philly's scrubs.
So teams don't count? It's just the QB? Maybe you should follow ping pong. That's a one on one game.

I disagree simply because Jerry Rice said it and he hasn’t said anything intelligent since going with the dreadlock while going bald look (perhaps before).

lol anybody who thinks Jimmy G is comparable has never watched a Niner game. The team doesnt even use him except basically to hand the ball off.

There are 2 things Jerry Rice knows, hot tubs and QBs.

Lol...GimmeSomeBalls...living down in Farmers Market thinks he knows anything about hot tubs. He does know QB's.
Poor guy never did learn his ABC's.

Dak has beat the Packers and it was in GB........ so the nonsense that Dak can't beat the Packers is bs
And it's pretty hard to pin the playoff loss in 2016 on Dak. Not that he was perfect, but perfection is not the standard. He was very easily good enough to win, and the defense failed.

Going by most here, yeah it's just the qb..when the team wins,it's all Dak and his glorious stats but, when they lose,it's the coaches, the defense, receivers dropped balls, bad scheme..etc..prove me wrong..and as far as ping pong, that describes Dak slobbers to a tee,it's all Dak and nobody else.. except when he loses of course.
