Am I the only one who thinks Dalton gets at least one start this year?

Prescott would need to have a stretch of horrible performances for it to be reasonable to bench him. We haven't seen anything of the sort, so the answer is a hard no.

That being said, let's say he does or gets injured then we're in decent shape with our backup.

You know the media is waiting to jump on this one as soon as dak begins to underperform... and I hate to say it but I think this current team could play better with a healthy Andy dalton... maybe I’m just crazy but I think dak is what is holding this offense back at times. It's OK to suggest that Dalton is a back-up and regardless of who coaches, Prescott is a better caliber player.

the claim is mimicking exactly what Dak detractors do and their claims.

so if this stands for Dalton, it stands with Dalton. and its not false that he has had his worst performances in biggest games.

and if we have to go with the back up QB, we are in trouble. he maybe good, but we would be in trouble

I think some folks here haven't really seen Andy Dalton play in years. They hear "Bengals" and just decide his supporting cast held him back. He actually had a good team around him for years, made the playoffs five times, and he stunk in every playoff game.

The NFL is a QB-driven league. A veteran like Dalton gets dumped and has to settle for a back up gig for a reason. Just because you've never seen him fail with a star on his helmet does not mean that he will succeed.

Great idea! We could immediately go from having one of the best backups in the league to having one of the worst starting QB's in the league.

And yet another Dak Derangemnt Syndrome post. Dak haters feast on these threads like the Zombies on Walking Dead.

The only thing that is the walking dead is our offense for the first 3 Quarters and once the game is lost they start scoring in Garbage time.

In a preseason with no games and you think Dalton had a legitamate chance of being named starter. . . No thats not how this works, Dak will have to falter for 2 or 3 games. Like really fail Royalty.

Or like his past history suggests he will do . . . That is go miltiple games without producing an offensive Td for Cowboys.

As loaded as this team is, it appears that would be an imposssibility, but if injuries continue to linger on the Offensive Line, that just may be the catalyst that leads to Dak struggling

Side note: they say Dak will run more this year, something missing from his arsenal his rookie year. I believe they want him to but I dont think he will, he will be making carear decisions because hes a free agent.

If he doesnt run aggressively he will struggle
