Without having read any of the responses, I’d imagine it will be most people saying sign Earl Thomas lol

I have extremely high hopes for this season. But I cannot deny that my "getting used to the norm" of us being mediocre has nested itself quite well. I think a loss his most probable. I also wonder how much DAK is doing with all that happened in his life. Must be really hard to deal with all of that.

Missing Frederick and Collins takes away most of the advantage for the offense on paper. Donald can wreck everything by himself. Lamb is not a drastic Improvement over Cobb day 1 and who knows how Jarwin is when teams game plan for him?

It’s going to be hard to run without Collins. Obviously Looney is the center for the year so it’s not like you can hope he is replaced in 3 weeks like Erving.
I’m confident Jarwin will be more of a threat than Witten and Lamb will be as good, if not better, than Cobb right off the bat.

Donald played for them last year and Smith handled him just fine. Looney won’t be great but we were fine with him at center in 2018. I am concerned about Erving but if MM can’t get him help or game plan around him then we have a JG clone and a lot bigger things to worry about than just this game or season.

Again, they had to replace something like 4-5 starters on defense which negates Erving and should only help Lamb and all other offensive weapons.

They still have one of the worst pass blocking lines, we upgraded our pass rush, run defense and hopefully LVE is back to form.

Byron who? I was told we wouldn’t miss him, let him walk, he didn’t get any INT’s so he wasn’t worth keeping. He’s really only our key puece missing from last year, we’ve upgraded every year. Surely Byron wasn’t the only reason we hel them to 22 points? Right. If he was then it was a big mistake letting him go (which I think it was). Hopefully our pass rush negates any deficiencies Diggs may have.

The Rams are not a good team. Say it again with me. The Rams are not a good team.

They have one of the league’s worst offensive lines and did nothing to address it. They lost Gurley and Cooks. McVey’s “schemes” have already been figured out by the NFL.

The Cowboys are a better team top to bottom. The only disadvantage they have in this game is missing Collins and playing on the road.

I am expecting a blowout win. If they lose in a blowout, we will have to analyze how they lost. Did Dak play poorly? Did Zeke lose a step? Did the offensive line fall apart? Was there a major injury? And most importantly, was McCarthy out coached?

Anyway this is all an exercise in futility because they’re not going to lose. Bet the game.
umm we dont know this its why 2020 is new schedule all teams start over and will be judged for this year not last year..

its why you play the games..

so lets stop making wholesale claims you have zero proof to back it..

we could go 3-13 this season, its why you play to show who you are each season..

BTW the Rams are in a much much tougher division right now and finished with a better record then us.. id say they are better if you want to use last year as a barometer. They fought hard against division opponents to be 9-7 and we folded at 8-8 with an easier path...

We have the Zeke/Pollard combo. If Zeke shows up, and Pollard can get to the edge with his speed, were good.

I thought I’d put this out there to use as an archive of sorts when people start calling for everyone to be fired or cut/traded Sunday night.

IF the game doesn’t go our way and it looks like a repeat of Chiefs/Texans will you say McCarthy was a drastic mistake or they should let Dalton start?

I think this is an outside possibility based off two factors:

1) Offense could struggle without Collins/Frederick and who knows how good Cooper’s health actually is.

2) Defense WILL have confusion against some of McVays schemes and doing more elaborate blitzes that leave vulnerable spots in the secondary. It’s going to take half the year to get it shored up since the team was so basic for last 7 years defensively since Rob Ryan left.

I’m on record that no matter what happens this year McCarthy and staff should not be held accountable for on field performance as long as team is improving throughout the year. This is not Madden and unless the Eagles health is totally diminished it’s going to be very hard to take the East from them this year.

You can’t plug in 4 new starters on offense, 5 on defense and new schemes and expect it to be a finished unit day 1. Goff, Ryan and Wilson are not the 3 QBs you’d want to see out of the gate

As long as they beat teams like Giants and the Football Team soundly who are in the same position, and show the ability to make adjustments throughout the year as they learn what doesn’t work, it’ll be fine for me.

That said I expect a close loss on Sunday but wouldn’t be shocked by anything either direction. Unless the defense pitches a shutout and has 3 picks.
How about what will be the reaction if we win? I don’t dwell in the negative.

I do know one thing, if we win Pappy-smear and his followers will disappear for a week at least. They’re praying for a loss.

my reaction will be the opposite of what it will be if they win 31-14.

i doubt that , regardless of how they talk about Dak, they still are Cowboy fans and wish for wins, well most do , i mean they arent hoping Garett loses anymore so they are just about as pumped for win...

if Dak takes the next step this year, and then gets paid and we are havign more success, they will eat crow, and come around..

We lost to the Kapernick led 49ers opening day at home years ago and then went 13-3.

No idea how this game will go due to limited viewing and intel.

I am reminded last year we started out hot at 3-0 and our offense was a well oiled machine. Then JG stepped in. That won’t happen this year. I expect to attack.

Stop being logical. We won't be havin' that stuff 'round here.

I expect a meltdown of epic proportions if the Cowboys lose 31-14 tomorrow.

I'll track you down by your by your IP address and then post your name, address and phone number with a story about how you were a spy for the other team while working as Jerry's personal assistant...
You left out he is Booger's "Boat Boy".

stop saying JG stepped in as an excuse for Moore and poor execution's by the players..

the excuse most false narratives does however go away and we get to see bad play for what it is..not garrets fault entirely..

you let me know where kellen Moore stated publicly anywhere even after JG left that garett stepped on his toes and forced game plans ..show me not one player even stated that..its all fan narrtive looking for excuses for a bad season..we went 3-0 because they were crap teams, thats that.. we used them as a wide open experiment to play with the pass game and got Dak some real nice stats until real teams came down the stretch,.

wasnt ALL Garett was better teams beating our team
yes time for Garett to go but stop the bs its plain as day why we started 3-0 and went 8-8

our players got their butts kicked, thats why..
poor passing and decisions, blocking, tackling, dropped passes, bad coverage, bad kicker, special teams couldn't stop anyone from getting passed the 40..it was bad year and players are more too blame..

It's a long season.
If you're going to have a team with a losing record, the best time to do it is when you still have 17 weeks to course-correct.

I think the Cowboys will win but if I am wrong that won't have any effect because I am not sure what to expect.

It is still a .500 team until proven otherwise and this wouldn't be the first time that we have assumed part of the team is fixed.

It is the job of all the local sports people to spin it positive to placate the owner so there is usually that lean and with a new coaching staff and some new pieces, it's all about perception.

The only thing I feel I know for sure is that they let the two best players on D walk from 2019 and I have no idea if this D will even be as good as last season. We get all of this praise about some players and then we see them play.

My reaction? It’s one game. Don’t overreact. Most fans here are cocksure about everything until the first surprise or 3 and out happens, lol. It’s a long season.
