I know it's one game but I am ready for McCarthy to take over play calling. Why delay the inevitable. He came here to coach the offense. Have him call the damn plays.

Well that's not what you said pal.

I know you don't actually know anything about football, but you're crazy if you think Dak was the problem last night.

I know infinitely more football than you. There was an easy 30 points out there last night. The Rams defense isn't special at all.

Dak was horrendous. He just can't pull the trigger when it's not a designed throw. He looks at one guy, then dumps down if he doesn't like it. He can throw the deep sideline route because it requires no thought. But windows over the middle that aren't his first read are almost impossible. He doesn't have the confidence to do it unless guys are running free, so he pulls the ball down, gets Fred Flintstone feet, and takes the sack. And in the red zone, he may be one of the worst QBs in the NFL.

They call a dumbed-down offense for him for a reason. Romo didn't run this high school offense. McCarthy uses far more intricate plays than what you saw last night. I think Moore told McCarthy basically "look, this is what he can do", so McCarthy is letting him call the plays right now.

Dak could not dream of running the offense Farve and Rodgers did, so McCarthy is taking a back seat. FOR NOW.

I hope he finds a rhythm, but last night was the same old Dak. When the other team stinks or is not into it, he can shine, but when the Cowboys need him to carry them, he just can't.

If he's not starting by week 3-4. Season over. Dak is not it.

Risen was the first to say it, and guys like Pappy, Willie and Capt have been consistent in saying we need to rid ourselves of him.

For now Dalton is the answer

the local media is almost totally ignoring the issue with dak . He is not why we lost the game . he is why we did not win . He is a bus driver and not a playmaker. too many dink and dunks , too many unexplained throws. The criticism in the media has been that the offensive play calling was suspect. but they ignore the fact the QB has options and audibles when he sees opportunities. Dak does none of that .

K show me where.

I'll give you one example. You'll remember around midfield when Cooper was running wide open over the middle betweent a linebacker and safety, and Dak was looking right at him. Dak starts his motion, then for some reason just pulls the ball and takes a sack. For no reason. That could have been a 20-yard pass down that may have even scored, and he's looking right it. (I think that may be when we missed the field goal.)

It's the throws Dak won't even try that make him painfully average. Against good defenses especially, he plays with absolutely no confidence.

The Rams will give up a lot of points this year, and may well finish last in their division. They aren't a good defense. That was an easy 30-40 points last night.

I will allow for first game and all, but wow, that offense looked more simplified than last year. No motion. Nothing downfield. Just blah. Zeke was incredible, so the Rams should have been ripe for plays downfied, but he won't throw it.

SHOW IT.

You don't have all 22 so you don't actually know if he was open.

They gave you a wide angle of it last night. Could you not even see it?

The guy has zero confidence in himself downfield unless it's a first read.

I don't even know what play you're talking about. You don't even know what drive it was.

SO SHOW IT. Fork up the $60, get the All 22, and get some credibility.

This is absolutely MADDENING

Between the local media not criticizing him and his cult-like following stan base, this guy is getting off easy

They are almost as nauseating as his play

For no reason? You mean a defender running right at him surely to impact the throw wasn’t a reason? Had he tried to throw that pass it had a better chance of being intercepted than competed. Protecting the ball was the smart play at that point.

I don't think you can afford to keep him as a starter. When you finally get your opportunity and drop two important passes of the three thrown to you, you're not good enough to be a starter.
