Sucks but more opportunity for Brandon Knight and Terrence Steele.

I'm not sold on either one of them long-term, but maybe a team desperate for O Line help will throw a draft pick (or a Safety) at us for one of them once we get healthy.

While they haven't completely shut the door on him, it doesn't look very promising that we'll see Tyron Sunday. Hopefully Knight has another good game & we don't skip a beat.

Tech-- i am really beginning to like Brandon Knight..we need someone from O line reserves to step up..he and Steele helping us not to meltdown

So if Tyron does miss, and Knight does well again. Would they continue to let Knight keep playing even when Smith can return. If he does not return Sunday.
Only if it leads to Tyron healing completely. Otherwise he should be out there if he can go.

I’m down to draft an offensive tackle early next year.

It doesn’t have to be first round but we clearly need some quality depth.

Hopefully find our next Doug Free type.
I want better than Doug Free. A pro bowl type LT is literally worth their weight in gold.

Is he a free agent? Do we still have to pay him?
Who are we moving on to?

Too many angry fans ready to move from almost everyone on the team. It’s not that easy.

And anyone who think MM will bench him is living in fantasy land.
I'm not advocating such a thing, but if it can happen to romo, it can happen to anyone.

He keeps getting neck stingers. I would not be surprised Tyron retires during the offseason. Only draft a top tackle if he is the best player on the board.

Good news. I hope they put him on season-ending IR, it should be all about Brandon Knight now!

Seriously, I don't care if he owns the team JJ AND Co need to be called out for extending Smith's contract out. Smith WHEN healthy which is an over statement in this VERY young season is one of the best in the NFL. With that being said I wouldn't give you a plum nickel for this broke down EX-WARRIOR!
Really? They paid the best tackle of his generation under market value. He is not even a top 5 paid tackle anymore. The Giants pay more for Nate Soldier. Tyron is what Jones wished Dak would do.

Ho hum, another quarter of the year Tyron will be out.

Love the guy, but they have to find a replacement. Need to draft one in the first two rounds.

Silly....another article today said he was in uniform Friday, but today would be a big day for him. Somebody is just taking a 50-50 shot at it.

Clearly you see how at QB a young player has a real chance to shine. OT is different. If we want to draft a OT in the 4th round and this happens with T Smith then I’m good with it.

everyone is replaceable of course and everyone gets replaced eventually.

fans having temper tantrums over this just seems what we have become.

So freaking sick of him, can’t depend on him at all....time to move on....
:lmao::laugh::lmao2:
His injury is as bad a carpal tunnel or a bad paper cut, just to equate it to something some of you will understand.

Cowboys gonna squeeze what they can outta Tyron's game status and contract, Even when he is 80%, he is among best left tackles in the game.
No longer dominant but still solid -when he is 80% healthy .

Biggest key always is to have a legit Plan B option, because Smith is gonna likely miss about 2 games at least very year

Cowboys thought that option was vet Cam Erving,..i guess based off starting for SB champs KC Chiefs , a former 1st rounder, his versatility that
has had him playing across the OL and his overall game experience.
And they will always want a bargain price with a bargain steal.

Article says unlikely to play. It does not say he is out.

Misleading thread title. Was it done on purpose?

This sounds pretty definitive that he will not play in Week 3.....and there is questions as to missing further games as well:

"The Dallas Morning News reports Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (questionable, neck) isn’t expected to play in Week 3 against Seattle.
Smith hasn’t practiced since he was injured during individual drills last week. The Cowboys have said his neck injury is something they’ll need to “manage carefully over a prolonged period.” Smith looks at least another week away from returning. Brandon Knight will continue to start in his place."

If it's a neck injury, i actually expect him to out be even longer that he is out ...and we have to prepare for unfortunate breaking news if they decide to IR Tyron

and even worse - ala Travis Fredrick sudden retirement.

lots of tough internet talk buddy, guess you think your opinion matters a lot more huh? Keep thinking you are special

again if you can’t depend on him then it’s time to move on
Pretty defensive and condescending remark! I guess you think your pretty special yourself, if you fire back like that. Jeez!!! Lol!!!! I'd love for these conversations to happen in person. Many here would keep their mouths shut and sit in a corner. Gotta love the internet....
