Hey all. Happy game day eve.

I have a serious question.

If Dak leads the cowboys to victory tomorrow AND outplays Russell Wilson. Will he earn some more respect? Not talking about haters non haters nothing like that. Just in general. I’ve supported him since day one and even I believe this is the kind of game that will make heads turn if he outperforms the guy everyone is saying will be MVP by season end.

What day you?
After 3 dismal seasons (As dreams were high) you and all of us have to wait for the fat lady to sing come the end of the season.
Personally, after the Atlanta gimmie win, you Dak-trolls sold it to death problem is we might be the team dying in the near Dak future once again!
Patience.....we shall see soonest what Mr. Prescott is really made of......including the FO.

The Dak-haters will pin the won on something or someone else. They will say any QB could have done what Dak did given how great so-and-so played. And if they lose because Cooper or someone drops an easy TD pass with 2 seconds on the clock, they will blame the loss on Dak saying the pass was not where it should ave been, or it was too late.

Dak already deserves respect. But he has to earn his way to the top echelon of QBs. That takes big wins in big moments.

Dak is great, but I wish he would watch the Romo 4th quarter comebacks on youtube, he could seriously pick up some tips on avoiding the pass rush, feeling when it's time to move the pocket, nothing defeats the big defensive players rush like making them run.

No!

People with a clue already know that Dak is a good QB.

Maybe some people that would rate him as an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 move him to a 9 but people that think he is not good are not going to change their minds.

The media might give him a little more hype but that likely just means that media members that already thought he was good become more vocal about it.

Fans in the middle will require weeks or months of the media telling them what to think and then they'll jump on board.
I would like to follow in lock step with this, but sorry X, I need to see more.
I dont think thats asking too much as a fan to have expectations and not be labeled and identified as a hater.
Im so tired of the Dak love vs hate...
It really doesnt have to be that polarizing for most of this fan base,, for most of us its about earn that contract,,, thats all.
Show me, that you deserve that franchise contract, record breaking contract.
Just show me more than a game or two, show me when its on the line,,
Seattle is a good start.
Atlanta should have been a blow out.

He outplayed Wilson in the playoffs, and still no respect. I don't think it matters, it will never change in some people's eyes

technially I’m Saturday but that’s not your question.

The answer is yes, if dak gets a big win that he leads against a top caliber team he will certainly earn respect.

had he engineered a final drive in that rams gAme he would have gotten a lot of respect too
He did. A ref stole it.

It is a question that could easily draw subjectively reasoned answers. Say Prescott has a great game Sunday and follow up with a not so great game against the Browns. Will an impression of outplaying Wilson matter long-term if ANOTHER impression suggests 'he' was outplayed by Mayfield?

Opinions are polarized among actively participating CowboysZone members concerning the team's quarterback (deja vu). Perhaps the most anyone can hope is for everyone, whether they are convinced or not convinced, to wait-and-see how both Prescott and the entire team performs all season long.

Curiosity seeking other observers willing to put themselves on the spot may simply be asking for a ticking timebomb of disapproval in the near future. Then how would a previously requested opinion of Prescott playing outstandingly compared to Wilson be remembered? Possibly not very fondly.
Gather around people this is a textbook example of a Great Post:hammer:

Of course he will. Now if you're asking will EVERYONE do that, the answer is no. Some folks are pretty set in their ways, and will never admit that they weren't correct in the first place. I hope like heck he does it. I know he has the ability, but there are other factors involved.

Crazy, but I feel like history is repeating itself for Dak. Romo got all the heat all those years too. At the end of the day, unless Dak wins a SB it will be more of the same treatment Romo got. A majority of it is because he’s the QB for Dallas, period.

And just like here on this forum, there was the Romo fans and the haters. No different for Dak.

Great point. I think some of the Romo haters are setting this up as much as some of the Dak haters are.

to some who are objective. yes. but to dak haters if we win, it was the WR, the seattle defense is bad, he got saved by the wind, if it wasn't wind then he would have lost that game, russell wilson had an off day, anybody could do it with what we have, its kellen moore, the ref's gave it to him, it there was a crowd, he would have choked, his passes were off by 0.2 degrees and made it difficult for WR to catch, I like to see more accuracy, did you see his 8 incompletions, they were the worst I have ever seen, any average QB could have made those throws.....etc.

if we lose, dak can't win the big game, dak chokes, his inaccuracy is the end of us, we should give dalton a chance, what a waste of 31M, my sons high school QB can play better than that, we will never win anything with dak.

Probably not. People will always find fault

"Great game, but that one turnover can't happen, dak almost cost us the game!"
"Good game from dak, but zeke really took over the game. He couldn't do it alone"
"Yeah Dak had 400+ yards, but that should be expected with the weapons he has on offense!"

You can go on and on, but truth is you make make any narrative fit that you want.

Elliott had a good game but he didn't come up with 38 and 58 yards at a crack like Prescott did. Whatever reason you have that you don't want to admit that Prescott was the star of that game is on you, but Prescott was the star.

Wait....you're saying it made Dak so upset he couldn't run an effective 2 minute drill?

"momentum"? When you have an opportunity for a game winning drive? If you want to be elite....you man up and make solid run at it. I wouldn't care if he romo'd it....give a solid shot.
I don’t care if you are elite it is a tall task to ask someone to convert a 3rd and 20......

Or how about Prescott has great games against seattle and the browns. It just seems like you're trying to put Prescott in as bad of a light as you can.
