You are dead wrong, but it doesn't matter. Mahomes isn't a Cowboy and will never be a Cowboy. So the discussion is a waste of time.

I mean, I get it. You and several others are hardcore anti-Dakkers.

Even the worst defense in Cowboys history, and possibly NFL history, isn't enough to get you to lose focus on your prime directive: trash Dak no matter what. 8 TD's a game from Dak won't change your focus.

It's a bad defense, yes. But you don't get credit for falling behind 41-14 and coming back to make it look respectable when the opposing team is playing back. Dak does this routinely. He looks great on the stat sheet, but he got run out of the gym in the first half.

Ignore the stats and watch the game.

Or, if you understand context, you know the difference between losing in a back-and-forth shootout, and racking up stats down 41-14.

But you don't, so never mind.

Nice revisionist history. Romo threw costly interceptions that got us in huge deficits often enough that when people think of Romo they think of costly, expensive game sinking turnovers. It’s one of the tropes people associate with Romo along with not winning a damn thing. Romo had plenty of games where he put up big stats mounting comebacks that were only necessary because of his ill timed turnovers and the holes they put us in.

The way you make it sound, every Romo game was similar to his career high game against Denver where he lost in a back forth shootout with Manning.

Ummm...

No.

You have a fantasy image of Romo in your mind that you’ve constructed only for the purposes of tearing Dak Prescott down. It’s pathetic.

You didn't watch Romo apparently. But you can recite the know-nothing version perfectly.

Dallas won tons of games BECAUSE of Romo. They don't win games because of Dak.

It’s almost like your fantasy rooted obtuseness is indicative of some kind of agenda.

Oh wait...

LMAO!!

OF COURSE IT IS!!

You don’t even realize you’ve embarrassed yourself by falling into a common fallacious logical trap known as special pleading.

Matter of fact, google the special pleading fallacy and come back and tell us what you learned. After you do that, then clean your shoes because you’ve stepped all in the **** pile of a fallacy.

You’re going to learn something! NICE!!

Such toolish nonsense.

The Cowboys agree with me. Jerry said this morningh that Dak's stats are meaningless.

Like Broaddus said, they could have signed Dak the last three offseasons. They didn't, which tells you all you need to know about what they think of Dak. They didn't hesitate to pay Romo, and they would do that all over again.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Dak turned their offer down!! The FO tendered an offer of $33 million/year and he’d be signed right now but Dak said, “Nah. I want to make twice as much as Romo, Jerry.”

It’s almost like you get your news from Narnia!!

The league average dead money on the cap is 16.8 mil the Cowboys are below that and are the 14th lowest at 12 mil. Now if the Cowboys were like the jags at 43.7 then that would be a huge problem. Here's a news flash for you the cost of QB's goes up every year. Every year a new QB is the highest paid QB.
.
.
Is that around 16 mil dead money for next year only ?

Admittedly, unlike you I don’t get my information from the Narnian press and Frodo Baggins isn’t my paper boy. You got a BIG imagination in that tiny head of yours LMAO!!

I know stupidity when I see it. This thread definitely qualifies. Deal with it.

I don't lose a bit of sleep over anything here at all.

This is a distraction and nothing more. It's not going to effect me one way or another.

You're probably a very frustrated individual in reality.

Romo never even close had this bad of a defense to deal with.

And where did he take the Cowboys with all his numbers? Same thing that's happening with Dak.

They have both thrown boneheaded game losing interceptions to lose games.

Whether it was a confused Cooper, or Dak throwing into coverage......I'd like to see Dalton play. I don't care what numbers Dak has.......W's matter.

Can they also actually play 4 quarters of football instead of only the 4th?

The Cleveland running game looked impressive. Dallas defense concerns isn't only the secondary after that performance.

This team is messier than a soup sandwhich.

Slick, come on. Dak deserves to finish the season, just like Romo deserved to as well when he was making bonehead plays in some games, complete with some amazing plays and gaudy stats.

Hec, if we're going to bench Dak, we'd have to bench the entire defense and sack Nolan as well.

It's not time for Dalton, but it is nice having a veteran, decent backup.

Yes, but he's the best we got, just like Romo was the best we had. And all things considered, we could do much worse at QB. Can we fix the defense? Can we have a sense of urgency at the beginning of games? Is the o-line going to hold up? There's WAY bigger issues on this team than Dak.

If a decision was to be made that he is gone next over salary, no matter what, the money from this year is gone I get that. I see your point. I'm talking strictly from a monetary standpoint.

I'd bring in Dalton, to see him in real games with this receiving core, and maybe one of them won't be here, but if Dak is a dead player, I'd bench him, knowing he's better than Dalton, but he's gone so it makes no difference to play him and pad his stats.

I'd let DiNucci play a free games to see him in live game situations as well. Look at all options for next year, but not wait until then.

I just see the defensive side as beyond recovery this year, even with the injuries.

The offensive line is hurting too, and paying Dak with all that going does nothing for the next few years. Figuring out how to recover the overpaid defensive players is next.

They aren't even improving in areas but going backwards. That's coaching. I dnt care who the QB is, this team needs serious help.

Dak may get his money elsewhere, and with a team that has a better chance in the postseason. I don't think he's worth his asking price, but someone else will I'm sure.

Jerry won't see this team advance in the playoffs even if they somehow won the East. The buck stops with him as Game but it's his money, and his team.

I've been a fan for 48yrs. During the ups and downs, and will always be a fan. They need to wholesale rebuild, and keeping Dak is a waste of money with this team as is.

I do believe Cooper seems to take some plays off, either due to fatigue or when he "thinks" he's not going to get the ball. Seemingly he and Dak not on the same page. Not a good look, especially when Dak's trying to force feed him the ball. I'm sure they both see it when they watch film during the week, so it SEEMS to be correctable. We'll see. Those two are going to HAVE to be on the same page. Hec, it happened with Schultz as well, ball thrown his way when he was not only not looking back, but he was simply jogging downfield.
