this is silly. Dak isn't garbage. he just isnt worth Russell Wilson money.

Is Russell Wilson even worth that money? He got that contract based on past performance and that is fine and dandy. But since his all world defense was disbanded and he became the face of the team, they have not even sniffed a NFC title game, much less a Super Bowl. He could not ride the coat tails of his defense in the playoffs any longer. You know, the same guy Dak beat in the playoffs. Russell was paid huge money to win big and he hasn't even came close. When you pay for past performance and thinking that guy can duplicate what he did with a lesser team but he doesn't, you will be hamstrung.

Russell is better than Dak but the Seattle situation just proves even these guys that are treated like gods need help. Russell needed it big time when he won a ring. Peyton Manning's two rings came when his defense was the MVP of the playoffs. Especially his second one. And in his first one, he won a playoff game without even scoring a TD.

These stats tell a lot, which is how Dak limits the offense. He can’t do a traditional 5-7 step drop and this team operate with Dak exclusivity out of shotgun and a quick 1-3 step drop for quick passes, making him extremely predictable. That’s why we run play action so much and now we’ve effectively turned Zeke into a full-time decoy to pad Dak’s stats in garbage time. This severely limits and has been limiting Linehan when he was here and Moore now. And this is a Coryell offense.

Mahomes runs exclusively out of shot gun so I guess he’s trash. As well as Wilson....the reality is almost all good offense run shotgun most of the time. The days of the “traditional 5-7 step drop” are effectively dead. You would know that if you even pretended to watch other teams play

Dak isn’t trash, far from it. He is good enough to win with, especially under the right conditions. I am not a proponent of him getting that kind of money though. Dallas missed their window of signing him to a decent contract(I know it works both ways) that wouldn’t have crippled the team.

Look at the situation that Houston is in now with Watson. We could be there as well with not much left for this putrid defense.

We are in a league that QB’s get paid now and Dak will get his. The question remains if it is a good idea to sink those resources into a QB who isn’t in the elite category.
