Drafting Lawrence is a Jerry move all the way.. I mean.. These are the guys who took a RB top 5.. This move would actually be smart too because this team needs a rebuild. Locking it down with Dak after having no proof that we can be a good post season team with him makes no sense.

Also, the Cowboys have been in no rush to sign Dak.

They clearly don't believe in Dak to the point of just giving him what he contractually wants and have openly said they need a deal that allows them to put the pieces around him required to win.

Lol the talks broke down because the Cowboys wanted an extra year.

But they don’t believe in him. Where do you get your news? The Shire?

Even if we have the #1 pick, drafting T.Lawrence does not cure all these issues. Top 5 picks on QB's can hit and bust. Andrew Luck as talented as he was is no longer in the league - due to health issues.

I would strongly consider a trade down. Teams have given multiple draft picks over years to move up and take a "perceived" QB1.

QB's like Lawrence are winning their Superbowl in the 1st 5 years.

If he's not truly elite then i'd move on from him too in 5 years if the market for solid QB's is still team crippling like it is now.
OK. Ill make you a bet right now. If he doesnt win a superbowl in the next 5 years you leave this board for good.

we already have a franchise QB.
we better start addressing our defense and finding a OT.

The cowboys will not be drafting TL even if they get the number one overall pick.

They will take a different player or they will try to get a good trade down value for someone wanting to jump up to get TL.

I really don't understand people thinking they will take TL. It only sets themselves up for failure.
Not looking to start an argument, but if we wound up with the first pick and didn't take lawrence, we'd be crazy. Passing on a franchise qb is unthinkable.

And another idiotic take by you. Hes been clutch in the playoffs. I mean. If you want to throw it out there. You said Dalton was solid. What are his playoff stats again? And he had a top ten defense. So ill wait for that. YOU HAVE NO CREDIBILITY. lol

Man you love to do this don't you.

"They clearly don't believe in Dak to the point of just giving him what he contractually wants."

That is what I said.

We all believe in Dak. Almost all of us think he is good enough to win with.

The difference is I understand that everything needs to be optimal for him to win and I think there is a long list of guys who can do well if we somehow have everything in place.

We were absolutely terrible with Dak this year because the team around him was bad.

We were mediocre with him in 2019 because the team around him was mediocre.

He goes as the team goes. He wants money that says he is more than that.

Put Trevor Lawrence in EXACTLY the same situation as Dak. Just swap them out. What are the outcomes of every game this year?

We haven't tried to win a game. This team has been mailing it in since week 1.
Having a QB on a rookie deal is not the key to winning SBs lmao
What does this organization know about Super Bowls? Nothing.
The Cowboys are a relic of yesteryear. Jimmy Johnson was the heart and soul of a championship era. We are a sad hollow franchise. There is no championship ship pedigree. Our fans pine for the days of Romo... not me. I don’t care about Romo vs Dak. Good Qb’s neither of them has won a lick.

Jerry has ruined this franchise to the core. He will never sell the team, we will be stuck on 5 SB’s forever. This organization has no relation to Super Bowls a generation has passed since we made it to one. We have not won a 2nd round playoff game since January 1996...

Lol CATCH17’s Dalton hot take is crippling him.

I still stand by it too.

Dak and Dalton will get similar results.. Maybe Dak wins that game yesterday who knows. I do know that we were a terrible football team with Dak.

I have an entire career with Dalton to know he can give you a solid standard as long as the team around him is good.. Just like Dak..

That is why Jimmy Johnson and I both believed he could do well.

Right now only 4 or 5 of you are on here very happy that Dalton isn't playing good..

In reality Dalton is about the 4th or 5th reason we aren't playing well and no football guy is looking at this and pointing the finger at Dalton. Just a few of you Hyenas on this forum who deep down know that Dak just isn't good enough to win at a high level with while getting top tier money.
