Jerry as a person seems like a very good and empathetic man, and he appears to care very much for his players and wants them to be successful. Unfortunately, that may be part of the problem with this team. He's too reluctant to give up on anyone, from a business standpoint.
Just think how much Jerry could have elevated a 3rd world country with the amount of money he wasted on this team.

Nope. I don't like the decisions he makes but he put his money up so he earned the right to make them. If I ever feel like it's too much I have the freedom to pick another hobby to spend my discretionary time on.

Agree 100%. Besides, despise is too strong a word, there's not a lot of people I despise. Bum Bright is a lot closer to despise than Jerry, for example.

Jerry will be gone one day, maybe Stephen will take over and be just as bad, I started with Murchison, made it through Bright, I'll make it through the Jones, if I live that long.
I follow the team, but it's the players, not the owner...

I love the owner hate the rest of it. All of it past I'm the owner of the Cowboys and being a fan is total BS. He needs to remember what Steinbrenner did with the Yankees when he realized he was to close. Put the people in place and be a fan again. Don't give two craps about players and their contracts. Let the team people do their job and don't take meetings from players. Be a fan again! You can't be a fan and a GM it just doesn't work that way.

Curious to get other’s takes. In the beginning I loved Jerry Jones. He was brash. He hired Jimmy Johnson. He acted like he would do anything to win. Firing Jimmy was the beginning of my hate for the guy. He seemed like a complete narcissist. A string of bad hirings and the franchise was in the toilet. I started to feel better with the Parcells hiring. I thought Jerry may have learned his lesson and was back to being serious. We now know that was a publicity stunt to get his stadium built. His hubris really took off. I hated the Garrett hire. It made no sense. The guy hadn’t exhibited anything that would suggest he would be a great HC. Jerry jammed Garrett and his nonsense down fans throats for 10 years. I liked the McCarthy hire but he wouldn’t have been my first choice. I wanted a lunatic taskmaster like Meyer to shake this lazy culture up. Now it seems like the place is finally imploding. I pity Mike McCarthy. This is not his fault.

I do not differentiate between Jerry the GM and Jerry the owner. The are codependent and both suck. I also don’t buy the Jerry is a nice guy bit.

Count me in the I despise Jerry group.

Where are you guys?
Yes. Can't stand him.

I don't hate Jerry jones. I hate who he's become. In his old age he is what Al Davis was in his old age. A stubborn old man still living off the good old days too proud to admit his errors.
He’s been the same since Day 1 promising a “ socks to jocks” control. Running off a back to back SB Coach was our first sign or red flag. It’s just gotten worse since.

But with his intent to be the face of the Cowboys there’s only room for one ego. Anyone else will have to take a backseat.

All the money in the world and no sense to get football people in here. he's admitted as much himself.
Who the hell would keep Garrett for 10+ years? He then hired MM after two interviews.
Hate? I guess.

It doesn’t look like Garrett was the core problem. There’s been one constant throughout how many coaches now.

True, but Garrett had to go, no indication he would ever do any better, 10 years is long enough, at best, and too long, probably.

Change isn't always for the better, just look at the Eagles. Vermeil got them to the SB, then he was fired, and followed by a succession of lousy head coaches - Marion Campbell, Fred Bruney (who?), Buddy Ryan, Rich Kotite and Ray Rhodes, several of which are on the list as the worst head coaches EVER, but then Reid came along, got them back to the SB, but lost.

Eventually Pederson came along and it was a SB win. To expect to get rid of Garrett and bingo! the next coach returns this team to glory isn't realistic, yes it happens but there are far more failures.

All we can do is hang on and hope for the best...

Jerry as a person is a wonderful man. Goes all out in giving his players the best facilities, doctors and etc. Does good charity work.

Jerry as a football GM...probably one of the worst ever

Don't despise him. But don't want to see him on TV or hear him talk after the games either.
I do think it is time he gives up the reigns and does not hand them to Stephen either. Well it is past time.

I think he gets bashed more than he deserves at times, for things he can't control. Like play on the field.
It seems he made many right moves this off season, but nothing really working out. I still like this years draft, and need more time to see the impact on the team.

But his crap hanging onto Garrett he deserves bashed also.

jerry is the man...Awesome business owner. He needs to stick to that and tell his ego to hire a GM.

If only he stuck to the socks and jocks and left the football decisions to a great GM and HC....he did with Jimmy, then his ego took over.
