It was early in the summer of 1993...
My twin brother was working as a ticket agent for American Airlines out of Valley International Airport down in Harlingen, Texas. I had gotten out of work around 3 pm with UPS, and my brother needed for me to go pick him up from work since his car was getting fixed in a car shop, and he was about to get out of work by 4 pm.
I showed up around 3:30 and walked inside to let him know I was already there waiting for him.
Long story short...
My brother told me Michael Irvin had just flown in through American Airlines since he was scheduled to make a guest appearance at a night club (Club X) presentation later on that Saturday night in McAllen, Texas.
As I decided to wait for my brother inside the airport at their main lobby, my brother showed up and had me follow him towards the back where their AA employee offices were located. That's when my brother introduced me to Michael Irvin #88!!! Michael was so down to Earth, polite yet very talkative. He talked to my brother and I as if he had known us for years. He was grateful that my brother had greeted him so well and made him feel so comfortable, so he invited us to join him that evening at Club X! Michael offered to pick us up in his rented limousine at our place in Harlingen, but my brother and I couldn't make it because it was our grandparents' 40th Year Anniversary, and the whole family was going to celebrate my grandparents' anniversary at a local dance hall.
My brother and I were bummed since we truly wanted to go party with Michael Irvin, but Michael understood and told us not to skip out on our grandparents' anniversary party. Instead, he took pictures with us and gave us an autographed picture each. Sadly, I lost my picture during my divorce back in 2006. My ex probably kept it (she said she didn't have it, but I'm sure she did since her father is also a hardcore Cowboys fan).
Oh, well. I'll always cherish that memory of Michael Irvin #88! ☆
