Gallimore had a fat guy collecting a paycheck in front of him.

Who you taking off the field for anae ?
That’s my point, Gallimore got on the field, not cause of practice performance, but because of a vet getting playing time.

So, get the rookies on the field, evaluate their playing time, stop with the, “they need more practice” as others have mentioned.

I would get the non- performers off the field. They have had plenty of on field time, there’s no more to evaluate.

Here is the most likely scenario, they’ll eventually get on the field after a player injury.

i don't understand why coaching staff Jim Tomsula is red shirting Bradlee Anae almost the same way
Reggie Robinson is being sat out this year .

Anae has been in on a few special team snaps but nuhtin major role there.

- Anae collected 30 sacks at Utah St. - so he was a sack machine there

- Anae put on impressive at Senior Bowl weekend proving unblockable in both practices and game itself

- Anae from all reports that put on another display in Cowboys training camp when he was unblockable

- Bradlee fell in draft to the 5th rd because typical scouts were wary of his poor workout numbers

i don't think its just Anae not being ready to show, because if not for the injuries of McCoy, Hill and the disappointments of Poe and Crawford, Nevillie Gallimore wouldve still been sitting the bench, instead of displaying
some ability ala Steelers .

There are times like this where these coaches that are holding back these players ......:banghead:

The team needs to be creative to give him some snaps at least as a pass rusher. We have seen Aldon and even Gregory play some DT in the nickel, perhaps he will be given some reps when the team is officially out of the postseason.

But Aldon Smith, D-Lawrence and now Randy Gregory are performing. That's 3 players that naturally would be ahead of Anae for playing time.

You also can't simply assume because it looks like Gallimore is outplaying Poe that Anae would outplay any of those ahead of him.

In the end, the coaches have to make decisions, right or wrong, and a player doesn't earn playing time simply by being on the roster.

I agree with this. When the team is officially out of the running for a playoff spot they absolutely should work in the young guys more.

We all laugh cause the team is 2-7, but that's how the coaches operate, find a way into the playoffs and you have a chance. Once they are eliminated, I bet we will see some of our younger prospects get some action.

It's a very odd year that 2-7 wouldn't eliminate them from the playoffs

Yes, those are 3 DE’s you are performers, but you cannot evaluate Anae until he gets plenty of playing time and the sooner, the better. Will Aldon Smith be here next year? Need to start planning for next year that’s my point.

Yes. Lets take snaps from Lawrence, Smith, and Gregory so Anae can play. And don't even mention Armstrong, he's playing almost exclusively on run downs
Lawrence got paid. Like he cares if Anae takes snaps. He calls for a breather all the time anyway

The Cowboys say they are working on a deal to keep Smith beyond this year. I also doubt the team is going to go with less than what they feel is their best until they are mathematically out of the playoff hunt. Sad as it is to say, even as bad as their record is, the NFC East is so bad overall the team may still be in the playoff hunt for awhile.

True, that is the traditional thinking and it’s unfortunate.

Exactly the problem I have with genius Jerry and son....

Want to ignore free agency (not counting dumpster diving) and build through the draft....yet 4th and 5th picks dont play.

If they cant play they cant play but at the same time dont tell me you dont need to sign better free agents because of the draft.

um m lol we are talking role players, rooks etc they will get some time before seasons end but it happened to Hill, theres typically a reason for it and thought the first half of the season we were loaded at DE, now we let DL go and making room for rookies a little at time..they just brought back Carter as well.. whos that LB everyone said should get time and hasn't? typically a reason..coaches know why

Romo was better than Bledsoe in 2005 sir. And I wont even acknowledge heath and wilcox on the same level. Smh
The coaching staff back then didn't think so. All Romo did during the 2005 season was handle the snaps for PAT and FG attempts. He didn't replace Bledsoe until the sixth game in 2006.
