True but we also know he rushed to sign the last offer but didn't get the contract signed in time.
dak and his agent expected jones boys to cave, as did many here, and by the time he realized they were not caving it was too late to get anything done.

Dak and his agent got greedy, as did Jerry and Stephen. Dak's injury, coupled with how next year's salary cap is expected to lower, should help Jerry and Stephen to offer Dak a lower per yearly average contract to Dak this upcoming offseason. I would say anywhere between $30 - $33 mil/year would be more than fair, plus for sure for at least 5 years. Dak would be foolish and selfish not to accept it considering his injury and how it could limit his ability to run with the football going forward. The good thing Dak is a lifelong Cowboys fan and wants to remain here, so I see a pretty good deal being worked out for both parties after this season is finished.

Well it is hard to predict, as things may change between now and then.
dak may not take 33 mil a year, or the 5 year deal, or he might, hard to say.
I would think he would, but you never know.

Thank goodness we can now put the Trevor Lawrence foolishness behind us.

We sign Dak and start breaking NFL passing records again.

All while the team remains mediocre at best.....but hey, at least Dak gets his personal stats and his lover fans cheer.

If Dallas has a top five pick they have to go best player available regardless of position. I wouldn't trade down unless a number one in 2022 is part of the deal. CeeDee Lamb is proof you don't have to draft for need in order to hit it big on a draft choice.
Lamb is a great example of taking the best player on the board instead of the best player at a certain position. There was no defensive player that would have made a comparable impact.

Not scared of failure I'm just being realist. Chances of you getting another Dak are slim.
I certainly hope so. I want a better QB than Dak and Lawrence or maybe even Wilson could have much better careers than Dak.

I like him. Just don’t if I would take that high up.
With just a couple more meaningless wins, they would probably have to trade up to get Wilson. It won’t take much for Dallas to totally be out reach of any of the blue chip talent in this draft which is not considered a deep draft at all.

Or they could join the VERY long list of guys who showed out in college but couldn't hack it in the NFL. You can either sign the guy you have who was already a top 10 QB and trending towards top five with a demonstrated work ethic and intellect to have improved by MILES since his rookie year.. and use your draft capital to address areas of far more pressing need. Or you can roll the dice on a college kid who may or may not be able to ascend to the level the guy you already have was playing at while ignoring the glaring holes at other places on your roster.. Good luck with that.

If dalton keeps winning , Dak will have to compromise on his 40 mil + demand or move on . Dak is not elite and is a lesser talent than around 10 -15 QBs out there . And now wirh a serious injury , it is a huge risk to pay him anything like 40 mil + long term .
