A top 5 quarterback matters. A top 10 quarterback? The second 5 guys have more in common with the #25 quarterback than with the top 5.

Once Dak got hurt it was all but guaranteed Dak would be back next year, probably on a 2nd franchise tag.

The PR blowback Dallas would get if they cut Dak lose would be too great, you even saw analyst saying "they better pay Dak after getting hurt".

Right. And I expect to try and take advantage of the injury and sign him instead of playing on Tag again which could bolster his contract .

The uncertainty of how he recovers could help our ownership in negotiations. I think they make a bigger push to get a deal done.

And Dak fearing another injury might be willing to sign for less than he originally was seeking.

Excellent point, I think both parties may be more willing to compromise on a long term deal now.

Ok, I think its time for bed...............happy Thanksgiving Diehard, you take care and stay safe.

They were mediocre when he was making the minimum...........stop using his salary as a excuse for why the Cowboys would be mediocre.....
So they should pay a mediocre qb elite money so a mediocre team can stay mediocre?

With this win, the race for Trevor Lawrence is over.

Still in play for Justin Fields, but it's a pretty huge longshot.

Dalton is gonna have to compete for the backup job vs Gilbert next year. I personally think Gilbert's loss to the Steelers is more impressive than Dalton's merely decent win over the Vikings.

Sorry, crybabies
He better be.

I'm not a fan of being pressured into doing anything. Especially anything stupid. If the team can get the contract that works, that's reasonable and good for the team, then OK. If not, then move on, do what needs to be done.

No they should pay a elite QB 40 million and build a proper team around him. That means don't overpay for guys like Zeke and Tyrone Crawford.

When do they plan to sign an elite QB? They currently don't have one, not even on IR.

Dak is elite but you're right after this season he's not under contract.

If Dak was elite they would have more than 1 playoff win. Wins matter more than personal stats.

If you chose to use team wins to gauge how "elite" someone is then so be it. I don't even think Patrick Mahomes could play well with the stellar coaching of Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy.

I hate to say this but the smartest thing Prescott & his agent can do is get the h!!! out of Dallas as soon as 2021 season is over........if not he’ll waste his talent & career here & that would be a crying shame for such a talented class guy who can be a consistent playoff caliber QB w/a solid coaching staff & team.
Prescott & Sean Peyton & the current team he’s built would be serious contenders for 5+ years
Brees is done.
I’m not a big Saints fan ....I’m from east Texas been a Cowboy fan since I was 10 yrs old ...I’m now 66
But for Daks sake I think it would be really interesting to see him in a Saints uniform.

That means getting an elite QB, because they don't have one.

The Offensive line wins games. Gives RB's 4.5 average or greater, gives QB plenty of time to throw, eats up clock, keeps the QB from taking heats.
1. Check on Lael Collins who had hip labral surgery. Will he be back at full strength for sure? Very important. Get the best hip rehab specialist.
2. T Smith. If he comes back strong, need a solid guy who can move into his position and play well if T Smith goes down. Connor Williams should learn the LT position. He was a starter at LT for Texas. Cam Erving is a failure 1st round pick who can't say uninjured. I would move Connor Williams to LT and put Connor McGovern in at LG.
3. I am looking for Biadasz to be star next year, a bad *** to defenders who will be mauled off the line.
4. Zeke needs to come back at 208 tops.
5. Must draft a highly rated flexible OT-G type no later than 2nd round. I would love Oregon's Sewell, but in Cincy they are sucking for Sewell.
6. If we trade down, we must get at least a 1 and 2nd rounder, then select a top CB in 1st round; the 2nd round we take a DT and the OT-G type; two 3's: two safeties, or one safety and one corner; 4th round, 2 picks, 2 DT's, give me tall ones 6"4-6'7", as QB's can look over the 6'1-6'3" types
