"I knew it was obvious before the season"

"Howd you know before the season"

*Lists a bunch of things that happened during the season* LMAO. You give yourself way too much credit that is undeserved.

It's funny you hold a QB with only one solid season to such a high regard, and another QB with only one poor season to such low regard. You've had your *** shown regarding debating these two players for five seasons now, doubt tomorrow changes anything.
@CATCH17 is an idiot who rides slow horrible quarterbacks like Carson wentz, soon Trevor Lawrence, etc. when there more ahem....athletic quarterback counterparts like Dak, Lamar, etc are clearly better.

They'll attempt to trade him after June 1st and receive 25mil in savings for 2021.
If pre June 1st they won't get much savings for this year, but no dead cap in 2022.
They will pay his roster bonus which will be more attractive for any team looking for a cheap, possible rebound QB.
His cap hit for the next team will be in the low 20's to finish out his contract, if there is no restructuring involved.

I believe if they trade him before his roster bonus kicks in on the 3rd league day of 2021, which I believe is in March, the Eagles will take a $19 million CAP hit in 2021 after the credit for his salary. If they wait until June 1 to trade him then he earns his 2021 roster bonus which adds $10 million more to his CAP impact. Although his CAP hit can be broken up over 2 years with 25% hitting in 2021 and 75% hitting in 2022.

It looks to me like they are in a no win situation with him.

I think with the limited offseason and being a rookie Hurts is going to get a very limited game plan to work from. While he's a pretty good athlete and a decent runner he's not Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson. He's more like a Tebow as a runner.. Just bigger and stronger than a lot of the people trying to tackle him but not really that fast. It should at least be interesting to watch.. if for no other reason than to savor the times when the camera pans to Wentz after Hurts makes a good play.. Those moments will be priceless.

I don't disagree I will say for any athlete you get your shot to shine and it falls to him to make the most of it. Now if he goes out and produces with the same weapons that Wentz has and shows success then I think he sets himself up to compete for the starting job. Wentz has looked poor and while you can put some blame on injuries there is a lot of throws he is making that are poor and his judgement on some of his throws like throwing back across the field have been moronic and costly. I don't know how much of this is mental for Wentz but right now he does not look anywhere close to a top QB and sure as hell not a franchise QB.

I watch Hurts play a lot of games, we haven't seen the last of Wentz. I don't think this is a changing of the guard.

Hurts gives them a better chance to avoid sacks behind that swinging door OL. He is not as accurate a passer as Wentz which is why he lost his job at Bama. But he will pull it down and take off quicker than Wentz just out of instinct.

Wentz's problem is Hurts is well liked and the Bama players still talk about how he took being replaced in the championship game by Tua. He's a team QB and as good a leader as Prescott. Wentz has to play the backup role as well as Hurts did for him or he could have some real problems.

Because Wentz has had horrible mechanics this year he hasn't been accurate at all. He can't throw left cause of pigeon toe. He overstrets everything so the ball sails. His arm angle is all over the place.

No one is less accurate than Wentz this year

We need to pounce pronto.

Pounce on what? If you're saying Wentz then you need to be checked for drug use. Wentz was the 2nd player taken in the draft and will probably be labeled a bust. Wentz has less wins, more picks, more fumbles and more lost fumbles than Prescott. With Wentz being the 2nd pick in the draft you would think he would have a better shot than a 4th round pick to be offensive rookie of the year but he wasn't but Prescott was.

You don't sit your franchise QB. Once you sit him that's it. You can't go back to him. This is why this is moronic. I think Wentz sucks but the Eagles can't say they felt that way because they gave up multiple 1st and 2nd round picks to get him and then spent 100 million on him.

Dak struggled in 2017 for sure but for the most part he never deserved being benched. Truly, Wentz probably doesn't either but Peterson is trying to save his job.

That's a 100% inaccurate statement.

Ask Terry Bradshaw about that same scenario in his career.

Can we all now settle down and agree that we will MOST LIKELY be the last place in the division?

This is mostly true about not sitting your starter over non-performance.

But if the coach is strong enough..yes.

A guy like Bellacheat or Chuckle in Las Vegas.

Like McCarthy?

Not a chance.

That is true, Bradshaw took some lumps early on. I recall the game he was lined up behind guard instead of center. I would not say it is too late for Wentz to get his career turned around but at least for this upcoming game Hurts gets his chance to show himself. If Hurts plays good ball I would think he will get his chance to compete for the job.
