I suspect Cyberpunk 2077 will be considered for next year's GotY given it's late 2020 release date.

I already have Pillars of Eternity/both expansions, if anyone is interested in an RPG similar to Baldurs Gate and the like this is a GREAT deal.

I just finished Far Cry 5 like 2 months ago. I played about half of it and then it got put on the back burner for a long time. Finally one day, going through my library, I glanced at it and thought "Oh yeah! I forgot I had that game. Guess I will finish it!" Solid game. Haven't played Far Cry New Dawn at all and they have Far Cry 6 on the horizon.

On your time subject, I was just talking to my brother today about "too many games, not enough time". It's tough with average games these days being anywhere from 30-100 hours of gameplay. I just recently started GTA-V, Cyberpunk is out, and I have my friends that are always wanting me to play COD online. lol So, yeah, I tend to jump around a bit unless a game REALLY hooks me (i.e. Bioshock series).

So far into Cyberpunk I can say that it seems deserving of the majority of my gaming time though.

I burned through Far Cry 5 when I was furloughed. Insanely fun. I may or may not try New Dawn. From what Ive read its basically a glorified DLC. Im really looking forward to 6 though

Could be very stiff comp next year. Off the top of my head Avowed and the new Horizon Zero Dawn should be in the running

I got about an hour into it and wasn't really feeling it (New Dawn). You're right, a dlc vibe to it and wasn't loving the hyper neon color scheme they were using for the env. Loved FC5 though.

t turns out a lot of people want to live in a cybernetic dystopia other than the one we are presently engaged with, based on the pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077. Developer CD Projekt Red has shared some statistics, and among others it looks like the game is currently in the second-place spot for digital sales on launch month (surpassed by Diablo III) and the highest spot for a PC launch with 4.7 million copies sold via pre-order. This easily surpasses Blizzard’s dubious claims regarding World of Warcraft: Shadowlands hitting a sales record.

The game appears to have passed 8 million copies pre-ordered, but 41% of those copies were for consoles rather than on the PC. Somewhat appropriately, 74% of the preorders were via digital formats. Amidst all the reports of bugs and seizure-inducing light sequences, it’s nice to see that the game is at least matching sales to the amount of discussion it’s engendering. Although if you own stock in the company that may not be too much of a comfort, given the stock price dip.

I'm an old-timer in my late 50's and some people look at me like I'm too old to be playing video games. I'm actually old enough to where I played coin-op Pong in a bowling alley back in the day. Lol

I played and finished all the Far Cry games except Far Cry 5 or the New Dawn. I even played Far Cry 1 (that was a brutal game IMO). I love playing video games. I don't see it wasting time either. If you tell someone you binge watched a series all through the night most people don't have a problem with it, but if I say I played a game for "X" amount of hours then I'm looked as someone who doesn't have a life when in reality I was using a lot more brain cells playing a video game than I would have watching TV. I would also snack a lot less playing video games. When you get classic games like Bioshock or the Last of Us that suck you in it's better than just about any movie or TV show you can have. Gamers are probably the only ones who "get" it.

Yeah, that is such an odd social stigma to me. You're exactly right too. It's OK for somebody to binge watch a 10 episode season on a Saturday but somehow would be a "waste of time" to do that on a video game. As I've gotten older in life I've just found that humans, as a whole, are extremely hypocritical especially when something doesn't fit their agenda. I'm 100% with you that I would much rather turn on a video game than watch TV these days. At least I can interact with what I'm seeing on screen and a lot of times it makes you think.

Also, if these people would do even a simple Google search they would see that there are studies that show video games actually have benefits. They've been used to help in PTSD, they increase your ability to problem-solve, sharpen your decision making, and the list goes on.

Oh, and Bioshock is one of the most incredible stories. I loved that premise. I always thought it would make an awesome movie but we all know Hollywood would screw that up. lol

Still waiting on my Xbox X. Walmart said they think it will ship tomorrow, i doubt it. I did end up getting a new TV, sony 65 750H series paid $599 plus tax(also delayed shipping waiting), it was the cheapest one and is still a upgrade, will move my old sony 55 into a different room. The good sony TV's were tempting but the price tag was just too hevty for me.

My Cyberpunk 2077 arrived today about hour ago, it's 2 cd's, downloading update over wireless, says almost 10 more hours to go on xbox one s.

New PS5 update just went live for Cyberpunk. It's been running decent for me, but people with older consoles are claiming it is unplayable. Stock shares dropped 29% for CDPR because of the launch issues.

I do! I love it. I've been using them for about 10 years. My turn around time is just a couple of days. If there is one complaint it's that you won't always get your queue order exactly how you have it. Depending on demand, you won't always get your #1 spot, though, they have started this new system where you can "lock" a game in to receive it. I have Far Cry 6 in my slot, so, we will see how that goes when the games drops.

Other than that I've really enjoyed the service. Saves me tons of money from buying games. I can't tell you how many games I wanted to try, got from them, and hated the game. Just ship it back and be done with it. Or, games I found I really liked and bought (they have a Keep It Now system where you can buy the game). Plus, it's really about the only rental option left. All the rental places in my area are long gone. Then Redbox rented games for awhile but that has since stopped.

On demand and streaming certainly is convenient. But it just isn’t the same as going out as a family to pick out movies to rent.

Heck yeah...we had a ton of Blockbusters and even a regional place called Hasting's where I was absolutely giddy as a kid going through the isles and hoping the VHS tape or eventually DVD was behind the cover. My parents had to keep me away from all the Rated R stuff lol...

We usually went to blockbuster but there was a local chain also called West Coast Video.

I remember when I was around 10 or so, wandering into the roped off porno section.
