I'd have to give the nod to Marvin Lewis. His defenses were fundamentally sound, and that would be a huge upgrade in Dallas.

+1 If there's a change, my guess he'll go after a seasoned coordinator with a solid track record.

Hybrid scheme will be a difficult challenge changing over the personnel, it's doable, but it would take some time:

Two-Gap Scheme needs a true 0 Tech NT, long 5 Tech DE's and standup edge rushers. You also need high IQ players, as they all have to play in sync with one another. The Cowboy players are so used to playing one gap and firing off the ball, where now they are expected to read and react.

MM has said in the past, he wants to run a multiple scheme. Even if Nolan gets fired, he is going to want to hire a DC who has a similar scheme. Question is, will he be able to make the hire or will it come above? I can totally see Jerry forcing Wade on him.

Getting a new coordinator......and changing personnel from a 4-3 to a 3-4 is a big ask in one off season.....considering we have nothing that really fits in a 3-4.

But asking MM to run a 3-4 w/ 4-3 people is also setting him up to fail as well. I think we are screwed regardless.
