That's what arthritis is, a loss of cartilage in a joint. It is painful. But for young people, surgery is an option that does relieve the pain for some time. The problem for Collins is he is a big man and carrying all that weight is the opposite of what arthritis patients are told to do. I am sure the Cowboys have been informed by the doctors of the severity and prognosis. Depending on the severity and type of surgery, Collins could be fine for years or he may have to give up football and lose a lot of weight. I don't know anything about his injury but having hip surgery at such a young age doesn't sound very good.

I wonder if the Cowboys would consider moving Martin out to right tackle permanently if Collins can't come back? Then they can put McGovern in at RG.

I’m not concerned since it’s just some dude saying it.
If it’s not coming from Lael or an actually cowboys employee then I’m not believing it.
Funny how fans believed he was so out of shape he was put on IR
Now they believe this rumor
I’d be extremely shocked if a guy his age had no cartlidge in his hip
We will see what the real story is

I think its debatable at this point. IMO Steele looks like the better option going forward. But both will be back next year so well see.
Steele and Knight are proving to be good back up linemen. The media and fans who don’t believe this are idiots who think playing tackle in the NFL is easy. The last 3 games those boys have held up well. Especially against the Washington Football Team and the Ravens. Two of the better teams in the league defensively. The problem with these guys early in the season was their lack of chemistry with the veteran linemen.

This can't be true...

Fish insisted he was overweight and out of shape and that Dallas was using injury as a cover up for the truth...

I cant believe we are willing to lie about injuries like this.
Who is lying? The Cowboys all along have said it's a hip injury.

Anything about being overweight/out of shape is just clickbait nonsense.

My BIL had a hip replacement and went on to excel as a MMA instructor.

My oldest son does TKD at a well known studio here, one of the Instructors is a 5th degree black belt who had hip replacement surgery and came back to teaching. He isn't doing the crazy Kick the Ceiling stuff now but an NFL OT doesn't have to either.

He got injured in that car accident.

And if he had Dallas would be negotiating (or sue) with the insurance company that covered the contract for Collins. And if they were, there would be a lot of press smokescreens like we see right now, huh?

I've heard they will also have to amputate his legs and replace them with his arms.

I was being sarcastic about the fact that when the Cowboys said he was injured, Fish was insisten that they were hiding the fact that Collins wasn't really hurt and he was just out shape. Articles, videos, one after another about how that was the case and we were being lied to.

Well obviously Collins was legitimately hurt and that was all b.s he was spreading everywhere.

Its BS on its face. People don't end up bone on bone in their hip when they are 27. I've had hip replacement surgery and plenty of other posters here have as well, Lael Collins is definitely not the first player in NFL history to completely wear out his hip cartilage in 60 NFL starts.
Am I missing something, or are you contradicting yourself within this post? I can't tell whether you think he can't end up with bone on bone at his age, or if he is one of several who has.

I said people don't have this at age 27 and Collins is not the first. Seems pretty clear.

The leg bone connected to the knee bone. The knee bone connected to the thigh bone. The thigh bone connected to the hip bone. That's all i know. I see cortisone in his future.
