It's amazing how those two wildcat, knuckleheads just run their mouths without a thought on what they are saying or how it will be perceived.
They play the media to whatever the current wave is. Public perception drives them cause they can’t rely on their own decisions.

Thats why they didn’t budge last year. Most were saying not to over pay Dak. That he’s not a top 5 caliber passer. Although they said he was.

Even his most ardent supporter who started this thread only believes he’s lower 30 million a year guy. Dak has placed himself in this position. And he better be careful or he’ll price himself out of the league.

QB’s who hold out aren’t the personality most teams want.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Bozo and Bozong are just hoping Hurts will take it easy on them by giving him false praise. Won't work, the only thing a running QB likes better than a big OL is playing the Dallas Cowboys and that goes back a long way.
I think you got one thing wrong, their names are Bozoer and Bozoest!

When has Dak ever said he would take 27 or 33 much less his agent. The contract he almost signed last year was closer to 38 if I remember correctly and Dak was the one who nixed it in the end. Most of those earlier contracts were to get slightly better deals and were set up to restructure so as to be able to resign Dak or tag again if not. Also just by the enormous nature of what a QB gets paid it’s not something that can be taken lightly. Zeke’s said contract was designed so they could opt out in 2022, Coopers was supposedly really a 2 year deal. Daks signing bonus and guarantees will probably be close to what the previous two actually make in bankable dollars before all is said and done. I not stressing over Daks contract, there is a lot more pressure to get something done this year than previously and that for all 3 people involved including the agent!
Yea, the rumors I heard was Dak wanted 40. And now that Watson received 40 not sure I can blame him. And we see what happened to the Texans . Same could happen to Dallas.

If Dak didn’t need a Zeke or Cooper like talent around him he’d be worth 40+.

True...

But...why has Jerry and Stephen so eagerly paid Zeke, Cooper, Tank, Martin, La'el, Tyron and Jaylon top position overall pay, yet they have reneged on paying Dak top pay for the past 2 years? First, 2 years ago, they said $27 million/year was way too much (it would have been a bargain!!!!). Then last year they said $30 million was too much. By the beginning of this year, they said $33 million was too much. By the beginning of this past summer, the market value had moved up to $37+ million which they also reneged on. Then they settled on $35 million at the last second but the years and guaranteed portion per yearly average was off. Time ran out. Now it seems they are planning on lowballing Dak once again since Stevie Boy is already out talking about had serious interest in Hurts during this year's draft.

The Joneses have so quickly paid top overall position pay to more than a handful of other players, but not to their star QB who has done nothing but outproduce everyone else on the team.

Please explain to me how that's a fair deal compared to others on the team?
Because the public perception was Dak needed Cooper and Zeke to be successful.

Regardless whether that’s true or not, based on the 2017 season without Zeke and the 2018 without Coop, our football idiot owners who can’t make football decisions like that for themselves can only follow public perception.

Any real VP or GM would know if you had a Top 5 caliber passer you not only wouldn’t need a Top 5 WR and RB, but that you couldn’t afford them both.

I can only assume they don’t hold Dak to the same talent level as they do Zeke and Cooper despite whatever they’ve said. Actions speak louder than words.

I guarantee you if Jerry let Dak go, the best coach in the NFL (who at the beginning of this year so rarely but eagerly gave such high praise of Dak) would get Dak to sign and help win some more Super Bowls in New England.

Well in that case Dak better get ready to lower his asking price by 40% to go play in NE because there is no way Bill is going to overpay for Dak when he knows that he will have to load his team with talent on both side of the ball just to keep his QB functional.

My money says Belichick is looking at one of the QB’s in the 1st round.

I feel like the reaction is a bit strong.

it’s ultimately their job to do due diligence on all the people available in the draft.

.....yep you're right.....but they're providing due negligence on the defensive side of the ball.

That's because Bill Belichick knows that you can win more with a good team than just an overpaid QB. The proof of that was in all those years where he and Tom Brady won multiple titles. Not because Brady was the greatest, it was that the combination of Brady and Belichick coupled with solid players plugged into a system were that good. We don't have such a thing in Dallas because in Dallas we have a deranged owner who thinks that coaching isn't that essential.

Well hell, according to half the posters here Zeke and Cooper ain’t no good so 40 seems more than reasonable especially considering Mahomes got 45 and good crap look at his surrounding cast and they gots a defense. Imagine that! An actual defense to play defense!

Yet, this season after Dak's injury has proven you and the Joneses wrong about Dak's value to this team.

How does it feel to be so wrong once again?
