Dalton throws for 300+ yds: fans say keep him. Dak threw for 450+ yds 3 times, fans say cut him?

Dalton will command way more if you intend on making him the starter. But he’ll still only cost half of what Dak will.

It’s a question worth posing, especially if the team feels it needs to invest more on defense. Dalton has shown he can produce and win with this offense.

One thing is for certain...Dak doesn’t want to see Andy take this team to the playoffs. A playoff run would make Jerry’s decision for him.

while I agree with you 100 percent it’s more about the cost per yard not the total yards.

those that dislike dak and don’t want to sign him don’t feel the value is there at 35 mil....but for a dalton at 2 mil they are stoked
The Cowboys wouldn't be able to re-sign Dalton at $2 million though. Obviously he would still be cheaper than Dak, but the gap would be much less than when he was signed to be a 1 year backup.

The difference: Romo was a CHOKER (as time proved to be true...I warned y'all). Dak is not.

Romo went Hollywood after his first year as a starter in 2006. Dak did not.

That's the difference you guys up till today refuse to understand.

One QB LIVES FOOTBALL 24/7. The other one didn't. Clear as day.

Dak isn't a choker???? How did he do against Philly last season with the division title on the line?

That's funny. Nice spin. To be a starting QB in the NFL, one has to be smart enough to understand the playbook and read defenses. Yet, you refuse to acknowledge the most obvious: One went Hollywood. The other one hasn't. One lives and breathes football 24/7 and improves himself for the game of football. The other one, not so much.

You're lovefest even 5 years later is nauseating.

The Hollywood comment is funny. I don't really remember seeing him in LOTR or the Matrix. Maybe that was the Too Fast movies. I see Dak on a lot of commercials. For years and years and years and years, NFL players are on TV for commercials or TV spots or movie appearances. It's really no different than having to give out interviews. You're reaching AC. You always have. oh, and guess what? I DON'T HATE DAK!!! I like the guy and don't mind him at all as our QB. You mistake a lovefest for realism. I was hard on Romo but I was fair. Just like I am with Dak. You cannot be fair.

Romo had more come from behind victories than any other QB we've had here. Romo improved as a QB every year from the time he was drafted. You seriously can't believe what you wrote, can you?

I get defending Dak, but you're trying to silence the haters by being a hater. Romo pretty clearly lives and breathes football. You dont go from UDFA to starting QB without being a student of the game. The only knock on romo was he had a hobby that was in the public eye.
I'm a hater? I'm simply stating facts. I always said Romo studied and knew the game well, but the truth is he went Hollywood. Dak hasn't. That's the difference. Bill Parcells had a warning about QBs who seek the off-the-field limelight.

Have you watched a Cowboys game in the last two years?
Yep, he does not consistently get out of the pocket and make plays. He does it here and there. He is actually slow to leave the pocket and heavy footed getting out of it!

You're talking about a 14 year career for Romo. Dak has only been on the team for 4.5 years, yet Dak is on pace to shatter Romo's come from behind victories. Wisen up.

lol Dalton winning games that Dak loses? I remember Dalton and the other qbs struggling to put a touchdown on the board right after Dak went out. The defense has progressed significantly as the season went on as well. If the defense played like they did at the beginning of the year, there would have been zero wins after Dak went out.

Who cares? I guarantee you don't say this when Dak does the same so spare us this logic. You can lie and say you do but without proof again spare me.

My comment has nothing to do with Dak, or what I say when Dak does the same, I was just noting that one game doesn't make an absolute determination.

The fixation on Dak never ceases to amaze....

yes that is true, but he's still not going to be getting anywhere near starter money at this point.

....and here come the Dak defenders running to his defense when Dalton did what Dak couldn't do: beat Philly in a division title impact game.
The Defense finally waking up and creating turnovers the past 3 games is the difference. Wisen up.

Fans aren't involved with salary and contract details, I wish they all knew this.

No but you are on a message board for people to give their opinions, maybe you should refresh your knowledge about what is supposed to go on here.

If you think this, then you don't actually watch any other teams in the NFL to have the right context. This is just an absolutely terrible take on him. He's not Lamar Jackson

There are maybe 4 (Rodgers, Russ, Patt, Watson) quarterbacks in the league who have the same ability to throw in the pocket and out of the pocket as Dak.
