Hopefully, LVE will be back this week. I would like to see both Lee and LVE out there and Jaylon Smith backing up.

Biggest problem with Jaylon Smith is that his instincts are often wrong and he gives up his responsibilities too soon.

Second biggest problem is that he is always looking for the big hit, decapitating a player, and making ESPN highlights. Need to just get him to think solid not spectacular.

Most labs are nice dogs and people like them. Jaylon is like that big, overexcited, lumbering lab jumping all around scaring the guests. The type of lab which inhales without chewing its food in seconds. The type of lab which can’t be trained.

….since were using dogs as an analogy.....our "Star" LBs, most of the time. Forgive me PETA. Just sayin'.

Jaylon doesn't tackle like a lb, he catches running backs like a short stop...he's so gentle out there and this skill will help him in his future as a ballerina....when his gimp leg heals up

Do we really want to do this? Pre-Jaylon. You're taught to keep your head on a swivel.

That last play is embarrassing for a LB... Wow

I honestly don't think Jaylon Smith knows his responsibility half the time. And he's out there calling formations and plays, I think. He freelances too much and no one holds him accountable.

Defensive coordinator needs to rein him in and only ask him to do one thing and not go off on some tangent.

i noticed him a lot in failing to keep contain on a few of those Hurts scrambles, that's unacceptable

really hope there's room for improvement with him otherwise I think we should hedge our bets and look at drafting an LB to replace

Every man got whipped by a Colt on this play....."Jaylon...You're the only one who's technique is under scrutiny."

There was a tweet (I can’t find it) in the game thread that showed him jumping on D. Lawrence’s back in a lame attempt to pile on a tackle.

Like Sydla said, what else needs to be shown? He’s so routinely bad that it becomes a chore to point it out.
Thats the play I was talking about...this dude gave the Olinemen a headbutt then did a spin and went and jumped on Dlaws back. He gave that linemen a concussion. It looks really really bad.

I love his pass defense as well...

He looks like a hostage that’s been freed and is running out of the building with his hands up.
I always get a laugh from the Jaylon posts bro...I always go back and watch the plays you post about...freaking hilarious this guy calls himself a football player.

This would be more of the same, but perhaps the most LOL one could hope for.

And if I'm Tank on this play, I would definitely require an explanation for these shenanigans.

:lmao:

The unintentional joy Jaylon brings me....too bad he’s not playing for another team.

I can't defend Jaylon on that one......that was baffling.

There are usually at least two threads by now. What's going on guys??? Is this good or bad??? (LOL)

Seriously ........something I think we all can agree about his game Sunday. He played hard....

BTW: something that's gotten lost in all his criticism is his durability.
He's 3rd in the league in tackles

Looked more like he put his shoulder into him. It was an odd play and I think the OL was actually a bit wobbly going into it because he was playing very strangely...why isn't the OL trying to block Smith? He's sorta just standing there stupidly. This was more likely an accumulation of blows

Do your job as a mantra in most locker rooms.

you can just feel him trying to figure out what's going on in front of them as he hesitates for a second or two as the play develops then picks the wrong hole or has the lineman already on him.

There'll be nobody in his zone except for the tight end or receiver behind him and he'll never see him while he lets the quarterback guide him away with his eyes

Stupid is as stupid does.

I know football outsiders adjusts for down and distance relative to where the stop was made.

Smith really does seem like the king of tackle seven yards down field.

Bob Sturm still does his splash play tracking and despite Smith having 950 or so plays ie more than anyone else by far he still towards the bottom in terms of splash plays

What game were you fools watching to think Sean Lee was any good yesterday? They put a cornerback out there to be a spy because Lee and Thomas were so bad. LVE makes no plays and is injury prone. No interceptions or fumble recoveries. You all are comical.

You are incorrect. They were bringing the safety down late, but Hurts wasn't running
Jaylon adding to his "tackle" totals.

And "antique" Sean Lee shoots a gap and still gets in on the tackle going away from him.
