I know right? It's a sin to expect more than a handful of productive games every year from a first round pick. I should give up my season tickets and fandom, clearly my expectations are ridiculous.
No clearly you are ignorant.

LVE is Sean Lee V2. Just not as impactful as prime Sean Lee was.

Hopefully LVE can get back to his rookie form.

Definitely, he's been so ultra-productive over the past couple of seasons, we need to just give the guy an extension tomorrow and I need to follow your lead and start accepting mediocrity more... my fault!

Lol - He will be on IR by week 3. He waits a couple seasons to “train his butt off”? Time to move on. No more unreliable guys. He is at best a rotational guy in my opinion.
he meant even harder then before most likely different type of wealth training for those specific areas..stop the BS these dudes all trin hard but others go beyond the norm lie TO did etc hes not saying he didnt train harder just going to go at it even harder..

these guys are grade A top professional athletes some spare tool getting finger sprains judging them from their desk is insane. What an ego some of you have ..smh get a life!!

i'll take this over the Jaylon "just watch tape" crap. Need LVE to get in teamates faces untill they do this too. Less night club more Gym.
He hardly has the cred to get in anyone’s face.

He’s essentially a great rookie with an injury history and three years of wear on a fragile body.

Why would anyone take their cue from him

People make it like he’s the new Sean Lee. I don’t recall Sean Lee doing all the self promotion that LVE and Jaylon do.

Both of those guys are more concerned about how they look and their personal brands than how they play

..got to hand it to him, if he prevails what he proposes to do. He probably knows he's always one play from going out. Needs to strengthen those problem areas.

Leighton Vander Esch will be around The Star for almost all of the offseason, frustrated that his 2020 season was slowed by collarbone and high ankle injuries. “I’m going to train my frickin’ butt off this offseason. I’m not really going anywhere. I’m going home for two weeks and I’m coming right back. I’m going to be here training all the way through February, March and April. That’s just what it is. I’m already looking forward to it. I’m on a mission, and I think all the guys should be too.”

That's good...I think he is getting the picture of what this team is all about. Hell yes...

I checked on the high ankle injury. It was against the Niners on Dec. 21. Doesn't account for poor play for most of the season. And I don't see how the collarbone would either. It's not a muscle. It was probably at increased risk of a break, but it shouldn't have limited play.

Injuries don't account for LVE's poor play this year. I wish they did. I wish we had a reason to explain it all away, and expect the promise we saw in his rookie season to bloom next year. But I don't see it.

Maybe he was playing scared? Worried he wasn't completely healed, or worried it would happen again or happen worse? I don't know, I just hope he's back to rookie form next season. He is fun to watch when he's hitting on all cylinders.

Another all talk, no show player. What a joke this organization is. Every player acts the exact same. We see it rub off on the rookies every year.

he doesn’t need to be playing then. He ruins everything by doing that. A player who is not hurt and fully capable of playing (such as Bernard) could be seeing snaps and play better than an injured LVE.

Hmm. I guess if you’re “Rudy” and then you’re just an “honorary leader”.

But, this is the NFL, not the Hallmark channel

In the NFL you at least need to bring it on the field and LVE simply doesn’t.

If he gets an extension, mark my words, people will be comparing him to Tyrone Crawford.

Decent role player
Way overpaid
Often injured

Cowboys need to rebuild their LB core, not double down on one that is already broken

Everyone's gonna talk mad crap about him now because that's what CZ does but this is exactly what I want to hear from everyone on the team after 6-10.
6-10 is a victory season for these Dallas Cowboys.

I feel bad for LVE. Injuries are the only thing holding him back from being a great LB. Unfortunately they’re simply not preventable.

not true, being in the same room with WWE star Jayla Pinket Smith brings him down as well.

Possibly. Players are often kinda tentative after an injury. Usually, that has more to do with muscle memory than just general apprehension, though. The muscles have to relearn how *not* to be always protecting themselves. I don't think that applies as much to a collarbone injury.

But maybe he gets his mojo back. I hope so. But it's not a confident hope.
