7 out of 20 doesn't change the point.
It probably doesn't but that puts them a heck of a lot closer to half of them than 3.

The Jags or Jets better get it right this time. Both have gotten their chances at 1st round QBs and came up wrong.
Congrats Saban on your 3rd Heisman winner.
Wait what? You think I am in the "dak is the best thing ever" crowd? What an idiot! This stuff is downright hilarious.
Is the “Dak is the best thing ever” crowd so insecure they’ve now taken to insulting college prospects?
Nobody thinks winning the Heisman is the end all be all determining factor in what they will do in the NFL, but it is college ball's highest honor and he didn't get it. Without reposting the list of 43 QB's that were drafted in the 1st round that ended up being labeled as busts, to say and guarantee that any QB, even Lawrence can't and/or won't be a bust you need to share your crystal ball, magic eight ball or ouija board that has guaranteed that. Now I personally think he'll be a good QB, not the second coming of the greatest of all time, but good. I also will refrain from making any really profound proclamations until I see exactly what he does do in the NFL.

Actually no it doesn't but it's supposed to represent the best college player for the year so if a player isn't considered the best that year in college then why should anyone believe all proclamations made about another player on how super he will be in the NFL.

no I was referring to that bum Peyton Manning, you know the guy that was runner up in Heisman and looked bad against FloridaIf you're referring to this years Heisman Trophy winner, he was a receiver not a corner back.

Lets be real, half the heisman winners never make great nfl player's,most are average at best..so i wouldn't put much stock in it.

Ricky Williams was awesome.
This mentality that if someone says something wrong once they lose credibility is ridiculous too. Gil Brandt is awesome at his job and doing something this difficult is bound to have some mistakes along the way.
When Ricky Williams left Texas he very well might have been the best all around back to ever come out of college. Dude was unreal.

He's going to be really good.. He could do things as an 18 year old that most NFL QB's can't do.
He's 6'6, quick release, can run, improvises, and makes difficult throws look easy. So easy that I guess most people don't think it's a big deal when he does it.
Could he bust? Sure.. Likely? Nope.

As I said I think Brandt was really good when he was younger but like a LOT of people when they get to 88 years old they can't always still be trusted like they had the same mind of a 40 or 50 year old.

"supposed to". Key phrase.
Though he's still pretty good....
Now here's a thought for you. All those wonderful things he did was against a majority of players who will never play in the NFL, but we're all supposed to say he'll do that against actual NFL players.

Except for J.T. Barrett - with 44 starts- recent Buckeye QBs declare for the draft after starting less than two full seasons:He missed at least one game and Devonta had some ridiculous highlights.
TL still had a very good year as well as career and I think any GM taking Fields over TL risks losing their job within two years if Fields doesn’t pan out. I think TL is as close to a lock as being a good draft pick as there has been in a long time. Fields could be great but I don’t think we have enough tape on him. Only played seven games so far, two weren’t good. This next one should tell us a lot though. I admit it biased a bit against Ohio St QBs....not a great history but then again OU seems to be changing their string of QB busts...
I'm sorry but you're questioning Lawrence for silly reason and not trusting Gil Brandt's mind?
The way you guys look at NFL QB's is not at all how an NFL team would evaluate this player.
That Ohio State game is going to be meaningless and it wasn't even that bad. He just did nothing spectacular because his defense couldn't stop the run.
You draft players based on Talent/Potential/ and Skill.. He's about as clean of a prospect as it gets.
