With Lee likely moving on, I’d be fine with a LB in round 1. We can’t rely on LVE to be healthy enough to lead the LB corps.

Leighton Vander Esch will be around The Star for almost all of the offseason, frustrated that his 2020 season was slowed by collarbone and high ankle injuries. “I’m going to train my frickin’ butt off this offseason. I’m not really going anywhere. I’m going home for two weeks and I’m coming right back. I’m going to be here training all the way through February, March and April. That’s just what it is. I’m already looking forward to it. I’m on a mission, and I think all the guys should be too.”

Isn't it contract year next? If so great, we get to highly overpay if he has a good year, we better be protected against injuries.

Hmm. I guess if you’re “Rudy” and then you’re just an “honorary leader”.

But, this is the NFL, not the Hallmark channel

In the NFL you at least need to bring it on the field and LVE simply doesn’t.

If he gets an extension, mark my words, people will be comparing him to Tyrone Crawford.

Decent role player
Way overpaid
Often injured

Cowboys need to rebuild their LB core, not double down on one that is already broken

Who cares what fans think and compare him to. True leaders aren't worried about that crap. Not all superstars are leaders, not all leaders are superstars. If you don't get that, we'll just have to say we view the world too differently. good day.

LVE can and certainly will, work his tail off to get himself into top shape going into the season.

The problem is and has been, he just doesn't know how or when his injuries may come to be.

As frustrating as it is, there are simply some guys who can't control their body breaking down.

LVE will work himself to no end to achieve the health he desperately desires. Okay, good luck.

All this sounds good in theory and some fans will eat it up but I need to see results and not just talking.

"Put up or shut up" and prove to the skeptical fans who thought drafting a unproven player with injury history from the much desired Mountain West Conference was a good idea in the first round.

Just another promising Inside LB that had/or will have their career cut short by injuries: Dat Nyguen, Sean Lee, LVE ...

He needs to work on that speed so he can get to the wrong gap quicker.

This is team sports, not high school student body elections.

Pro athletes respect a few things. Performance, prestige, money and accomplishment. You have those things *and* you can talk a good game, then they will follow you.

Other than the wolf call, which is just the flip side of Jaylon’s stupid throat slash and Zekes feed me gesture, LVE doesn’t do anything on the field to inspire anyone

The idea that a guy who hasn’t done anything in two years and can’t stay on the field is a “leader” on this team is silly.

Let him have a great year in 2021 and get his big contract and get the money and then the wolf call can turn into the marketing brand he’s been trying to get going and maybe his peers will rally around him and listen to what he says.

I’m not sure if you’re even talking about LVE and not about some personal feelings, but the rest of us are talking football

Lee trained his butt off in the gym but it did not prevent him from injury.

I guess LVE really wants Jerry to pick up that 5th year option.

All kidding aside, I wish him well. I would suggest more time watching film with Lee. Invite Jaylon.
Jerry doesn’t leave none of his kids behind. That 5th option was guaranteed the moment he grabbed his first pro bowl nod

You have no clue what you are talking about. Just because you put an emphasis on who you think is great doesn't mean everyone else does. The kid made the pro bowl as a rookie and has a chance to do so again if he ever stays healthy enough. That's about all the skins any player on this team has cause none have playoff wins. Zeke has won 2 rushing tittles but isn't much of a leader though he tries sometimes. Being a leader is not just about being elite at whatever you do. Anthony Brown couldn't lead to save his life yet he was once considered the best at his position. Again my point to you is you do not have to be elite to be a leader and not all that are elite are leaders (atleast not good leaders) be it football or whatever. And also i'm not saying he is one but he could be and should be cause like it or not Jaylon is a leader in that locker room and he flat out sucks but those guys seem to gravitate to him for other reasons. Anyway i doubt you'll ever understand it, so cya.

Is he willing to take Jaylon along for the ride?

I don't want to see ANY of our LB's return next season....time to start over COMPLETELY at that position!!!
